anyone have info/rumors on when the next gen of laptops will hit - beyond 965? a friend asked me when we would see a laptop based on something beyond 965. any thoughts or rumors? he is a bigtime power user - likes to run solidworks on his laptop, so is always jonesing for the latest & greatest.

well, i plugged the fans in directly to the power supply, bypassing the motherboard and the problem is solved. the only downside is that now my intel hardware monitor shows 0 for fan rpm (and the annoying red flash in the system tray). so now that we know that it is some sort of power issue...

i am having a weird issue with my A05B fans and my intel bad axe 2. the problem drove me nuts. basically i was getting a clicking noise coming from *both* fans. i never unplugged both case fans at the same time, so i was hearing the clicking noise when i pulled each seperately. it wasnt...

that did it. did the service pack 2 a reboot or two ago and hadnt checked disk administrator since. showed 127G + unpartioned. the other drive showed the full amount. thanks tuskenraider.

dropped my 320G and 400G SATA 7200.10 barracuda drives into a new comp. xp is only showing 1XXG for each drive. do i need to load a special driver on xp install? sorry for the noobish question. figured id ask before i start hunting online.

well since i swapped both sticks and put a different brand, different speed, and the same clicking is there, im pretty sure its not the ram.
