Euclideon (Unlimited Detail Technology) Status Update...

Hmm... I can see either Bing or Google picking up on this technology for their map systems.

Analyst Blown Away By Google Fiber

I have Brighthouse here in Tampa, 20/2mb along with full HD cable and Showtime, and I pay about $120/month I think. Thankfully Brighthouse doesn't believe in data caps (even have a friend who works for them and there isn't one). But, Google can come here anyways! I'll take 1gb up/down!!!

    GTX480 in an HTPC

The psu will handle the 480 just fine, but be prepared to crank the AC =)

    Quake!

Bought thief 2 on a steam sale for super cheap. Definitely a classic worth buying. I think thief 1 is for sale too. Amazing games

Where are the mid range nVidia cards?

I agree. My 5850, although far from the fastest card on the market, is happily breezing through any 1080p game I throw at it. Bf3 I had to turn down some cause it didn't have enough vram, but it still looked great and performed flawlessly. As much as I'd love a 670 right now, I just don't see a...

Microsoft's Major Bing Revamp Goes Live

$25 of the $350 I spent on my 3770k was paid for by using Bing and their rewards program. Granted it took me a year and half to accumulate, it was a welcomed payment just in time for my upgrade. :)

Diablo III is getting killed on Metacritic

It's certainly not my intention to ever spoil anything for anyone, but I did warn the reader prior to delving into my point. I did add more obvious spoiler tags though.

Diablo III is getting killed on Metacritic

***********This post does contain spoilers************** Diablo 3 is a good game. The gameplay, loot design, and spell/stat mechanics are excellent. The art design is top notch. That, and I don't have to recreate my entire toon if I even remotely mess up my skill tree. Plus it's nice to...

7970's must be in short supply

^This. Given AMD's background in semiconductors, they undoubtedly have an edge of Nvidia in this department, but you essentially build a chip around the requirements a semiconductor process. This is also why AMD can't just take it's Bulldozer design and move it to TSMC's 28nm node, because it...

Bloomberg: Facebook Worst IPO Flop of the Decade

Facebook has a lot of rather brilliant people working for it, but they make the bulk of their money off of advertising just like Google. As long as Facebook continues to attract large amounts of users, it will remain a powerful advertising tool for businesses to harness. Most businesses I talk...

GK104 confirmed originally GTX 660, GK110 launch (possible Tesla) on the 10th?

Honestly, I thought that whole article was written with Nvidia's shlong in the author's mouth. Not that I dislike Nvidia, absolutely not, but the article is written like Nvidia's success with Kepler is equal to Apple's success with the iPhone. Secondly, I really have a hard time believing...

Tomari Shutdown Leaves Japan without Nuclear Power

I think this is a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to nuclear power on their part. They knowingly took risks with the nuclear reactor designs, and they were burned because of it (no pun intended). So instead of correcting the issue with the plants, which you think would be simple, easy, and cheap...

So, it's what I've been saying..

I, too, miss the days of double performance gains, but the fact is, the industry cannot afford ~2x increase in power consumption with each successive generation. The Radeon 2900XT was the first card to hit that ~225w "barrier", which both AMD and Nvidia have been riding ever since. I did...

Let's speculate when the 7 series will see a price drop!

I'd buy a 7870 at $300 too, but I think we'll see either one of two things happen: 1. Nvidia brings their supply up and forces a price drop on AMD's part. 2. Nvidia's production lines can't keep up with the demand for Kepler, and raises the price as a result. Although I was talking to...

    Coolest Grandpa Ever

Call me crazy, but I wouldn't be surprised if video games start to become prescribed to elderly individuals due to their level of cognitive stimulation. Not that playing video games is curing cancer, but it's far more stimulating than watching TV. Has a study ever been conducted on the age...
