Not sure where jpm has been but China's economic growth has out paced the rest of the world for years. By the time my 5 year old graduates HS China will be the #1 economy in the world.
You mean like all those college grads with CS degrees? Enrollment in CS programs has gone down every year for the past decade yet a CS degree guaranrees employment.

What games do you play? I have an 27" ACD and love 1440p. MMO's, RPG's, action titles are all fantastic at this rez. If all you play are FPS' at a competitive level then 1080p 120hz is the way to go, probably 25" max though.
If you plan on reading alot, 1440p may be too much, text is tiny...
After taking my iMac to work and losing the wonderful display for a couple weeks I'm back in business with my LED Cinema Display. Startech adapter works perfect with my NVidia GTX 680 and I'm a happy gamer again.

I did a search on Yamakasi, The only thing I could find was a company that appears to be Witech Instrument Co, LTD

You left out build quality and Apple support. While I am usually very critical of Apple, their customer service and support is the best in the industry. The build quality of the ACD is simply awesome. (Yes it should be for $1k.)

Admittedly, no matter what monitor any of us chooses, we all have to make compromises. To be honest it ticks me off. The industry can certainly do better.
