The [H]ard Forum Storage Showoff Thread - Post your 10TB+ systems

If it's of any help, I use these for cleaning at the small scale: http://cpc.farnell.com/pro-power/ppc101/air-duster-400ml-aerosol/dp/SA01882 and then for large scale dust removal I use a 25litre air compressor: http://www.sgidepot.co.uk/sgidepot/pics/systemcleaning.jpg Dust shall not...

Upgraded to a faster amd x2 6000+ got some questions now...

I found my 6000+ was also rather hot with the stock HSF, and a bit loud, so I replaced the HS with an U120 Extreme and bought a Scythe SFF21E 1200rpm fan. Now there's very little noise and the temp stays under 55C under full load. Full spec/items...

Quick followup:- I now have it all working ok thanks to Commander Suzdal!! Ta very much dude! 8) In case it's of use to anyone else, I've made the modified P1130 driver and monitor*.inf files available for download on my site here: http://www.sgidepot.co.uk/depot/monitorfiles.zip...

How to regain access to max 2048 x 1536 resolution with 8800GT?

Good idea! Hadn't though about drivers for the monitor. Coming from the SGI world, the very idea has always seemed a bit wierd to me. :D And trying the other DVI port sounds interesting, I'll have a go. Thanks!! Ian.

How to regain access to max 2048 x 1536 resolution with 8800GT?

Not yet. I'm a bit concerned about doing that as I can't recall how much has changed since the last save point. Ian.

How to regain access to max 2048 x 1536 resolution with 8800GT?

I'm having problems trying to select the highest resolution for playing Oblivion/Stalker. My card is a Gigabyte GF8800GT 512MB (Turboforce Edition, 700MHz core); see sig for full system spec. To begin with, my monitor was a 22" SGI GDM5411, which has a max res of 2048 x 1536. I was able to...

so what do you consider high resolution gaming?

Ah heck, what you really want is UHDTV. :D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra_High_Definition_Video My entire wall showing 7680 x 4320 for Oblivion, Stalker, CoD4, etc. would suit me just fine... Hmm, would probably never get any work done though. :D Btw, I normally play at 2048 x...

Building a rig comparable to the Mac Pro at fraction of the cost
