1. Those of us that have been reading [H] since the Radeon 9700-series remember the cries of Nvidia fanboys back then when the 9800 came around and kicked the crap out of the 4 and FX series. Quite frankly, they were terrible cards (I know, I owned 3 of them) compared to ATI's offerings...

Ground combat is definately frustrating, tried twice with a freaking division of tanks to take over that damn planet, couldn't get anywhere. Space combat and bombing runs on planet are teh awsome however.

I've got a pretty simple rule: Until I see it on the [H], then I don't believe it. Not one other website out there uses real-world testing. Instead they seem to love the pre-canned "apples-to-apples" benchmarks that don't really tell the entire story. And any site that uses 3dMark in...

And now we see where the real money is, on the "low end" cards and mid-range 6800GT/GS/Ultra. Despite what we like to think, us bleeding-edge nutcases just don't make the major bucks for Nvidia/ATI/et. all.

DFI is good if you want to run batshit-insane voltages and overclocks. I've got the A8N-SLI Premium (non 32x variety), thing is rock-solid stable at up to 302MHz FSB. Overclocked my 3700 San Diego from 2.2 to 2.787GHz like it's nothing (just bumped voltage from 1.4 to 1.48). Haven't overclocked...

Meh. I just use Coolbits for the clocks and ATITool for the artifacts. If it can't do an hour with no artifacts, then it's not truly stable IMO. Yes, ATITool's built-in artifact detection works with NV cards. And what is this "simple fan mod"?

This is exactly why I stuck with my DFI NF3 board until May of this year. Sure, I won't be on the absolutely bleeding edge of the absolute newest hardware, but stability of overclocks is more important than getting those last few 3D E-penis marks out of my box.

The biggest reason I would ever go water cooling is for the silence. Though since I moved to a case that uses a 120mm fan instead of 2 80mm fans, and a 120mm fan on my CPU, it's not so bad.

Wow, the amount of AA and AF modes you guys have to play with now are insane. How much more time have they added onto your reviews so that you can try all the possible combinations? Great review as always.

And they load up every one of their machines with enough adware and spyware to choke a horse, nevermind the fact that their parts are all flavor of the day across identical models.

And we still have NO CROSSFIRE MOTHERBOARDS FOR SALE. So those X850XT Master cards are all but fucking useless at this point. ATI has hosed this whole mess up royally.

Bullshit. If they weren't having avaliablility problems, they would have been out on the launch date, or 4 months ago when they pulled the BS with Crossfire.
