Yeah, you should be able to see a light source on the glossy or matte anti-glare coating..

BenQ FP241W the first exhaustive review IN CHINA (translated )

I'd get the Philips S-IPS 23" over the BenQ for that price, but I don't care about HDCP..

Trinitron 21" 1600x1200 - Is there an LCD for me?

If you want the most CRT-like experience get the NEC 20WMGX2. If you want a 1600x1200 LCD I'd probably get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824005064.

It could be a panel lottery like the 2007FP then, or people in the UK could be getting the P-MVA's and people in the US getting the S-IPS or vice-versa.

    2007wfp coating - a bad joke?

All LCDs with matte anti-glare coating have that, I believe most Acers use glossy coating though.

can someone please post a pic of a 16:9 20" and 4:3 20" side by side?

Thats cool, heres the pics edited to show the differences better. I didn't try to compensate for the angles though, so it could be a bit off. (20.1 widescreen dimensions over 20.1 4:3) (24 widescreen dimensions over 20.1 widescreen)

Dude, you're awesome, can you put up a closeup of the 20.1" widescreen and 24" widescreen ? (if possible not at an angle) I just remembered that all widescreen monitors are 16:10, you're right.

The F-20 is not an S-IPS panel, its listed on tftcentral.com as one but thats incorrect. Several people at widescreengamingforum.com have called Acer to confirm if it was an S-IPS panel and found out its actually a P-MVA panel. http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3112...
