Indeed! Changing the bad capacitors did the trick. The monitor is as good as new again. :D

Well, that was back in 10-06-2008. Today the monitor died again. Exactly the same symptoms as the last time. I've already purchased a new monitor, and the acer is outside warranty now, but i might have a go at repairing it myself. :)

I just got the monitor back from repairs and its working perfectly now. According to the service-report they did some repairs on the monitors powersupply. Oh, and the repair was covered by the warranty. So... since i wasnt patient enough and opted for bying a new monitor while the repairs...
