PC won't cold boot unless I boot once without graphics card

Well I had XMP applied to begin with. One of the boots said OC failed so I backed it off. That's where it's at as of right now. So it happened both with and without XMP (3200) applied.

PC won't cold boot unless I boot once without graphics card

A few days ago I force shutdown the PC using the power button on the case. Once I tried booting, I only hear a *CLICK* from the PSU. If I hold the button, I can hear a very quiet, consistent, ticking sound, also from the PSU. I did a little searching and found a suggestion to boot without the...

    Your drive setup

Thanks! Why do you have games/editing on platter? Based on your very first sentence, it sounded like you were going to suggest just putting it all on the same drive, but then it circled back around to my original thoughts. Edit: HTH do I change my signature? Can't find anything in my profile...

    Your drive setup

I have been away from the scene for a while now and back then, it was a best practice to put OS on its own drive and other high IO things like VM's on another drive. Is this still applicable with modern SSD's? I'm about to assemble a new desktop build and I already have one 500gb Samsung 850...

    Build for photographer/photo editing

It doesn't...It's at 256MB. Any other alternatives to the $130 card? Anything in the $60 range? Thinking this guy: $70 - EVGA 01G-P3-1431-KR GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

I actually never switched them out. I was planning to keep them in specifically for that reason. Also, I just noticed these have a 20% coupon code right on the product page. $21 off! Excellent. Also, since no one addressed the 8600GT video card, I'm going to assume it should be sufficient for...

Already have an 8600GT I think we will roll with initially and see how it goes. Can always upgrade if needed. Forgot about this card otherwise I would have mentioned it.

    Build for photographer/photo editing

Trying to trim some dollars to fit in a 1TB drive...I've dumped the Hitachi, added the M4 128GB. I'm wondering if the video card isn't a bit overkill? I think the majority of light room is dependent on CPU & RAM. Graphics requirements aren't even listed on the system requirements for LR4...

    Build for photographer/photo editing

Thanks Danny...I just made an edit before your post about having a 128GB SSD (possibly the M4). Can that fit in anywhere in here? I'm checking with the friend to see what he currently has for internal HDD's that could be re-used as secondary drives.
