IMHO wait for the new motherboards to come out aka, LGA, 939 socket... they are supposed to be enriched with new little goodies.... but if you cant wait... get either the a64 2800+ and a good 754 socket board or A P4 2.4C and OC it to 3.3 or 3.4 with a thermalright HS and a duct...

Fastwrite is on. 8x Im also running @ 2.4ghz with my barton so.... who knows. If you use ATITool, you can get even higher. I got 18997 with 395core/345mem speeds.

775DDR divided by 2 = 387.5mhz A good heat spreader will let you do that.

I just got done running 2k1, and with rolling back the drivers to 4.4, my score went up almost 2500 points. ( 16500 to 18997 )

No, I bought it to play far cry with some actual goodies... Never the less, I down graded to the 4.4 catalyst drivers, and now my 3dmark01 score is 18,997

Get the 206$ one, its the 256 bit version of the 9800 pro, the 172$ one is 128bit which is relative to half the performence you'd expect from a 9800 pro.

Hey- I just purchased a 9800 pro from newegg.com - it is the 256bit version- but I was rather surprised when my 3dmark01se score was only mid 16k Is that about right? My geforce 4 ti 4600 got 12k- I guess I just thought it'd be higher.
