Lots of praise for this thing, still.
I have to question how discerning, keen, and aware many of these people are. I have a strong feeling most of these people don't even realize their CRTs are withering with age.
My HP version from an online retailer has never had perfect focus and has...
Here's my problem:
A) I have a password entry box that does not allow pasting
and
B) I have an enormously long line (64 chars) of obfuscated ASCII characters that is difficult to enter.
I'm looking for a very simple (read: freeware) program that lets me enter, via paste, a string of text...
Mine "works" too, but in the way you described it. It doesn't work well at all.
It seems RedOctate has acknowledged it, here's what they said to the bloggers at kotaku:

I have a 065 BTW.
Thank you so much for the reply -- I have no fear of opening the boy up; only a fear of adequate tutorials for someone with zero WinDAS/CRT-tweaking experience.
I'm gonna soak up all this info.
Just lower the refresh rate; that did it for me and many other users.
Sometimes you only need to lower it by 2 or 3 Hz to stop the "vertical scan line" thing.
It is highly noticable on black text/white background, literally looks like I need glasses as I read text that goes from the center and gets blurrier towards the right. It's not really make-or-break, but it's extremely annoying. The center is crystal though.
I'll see if I can get some monitor...
I know what you mean, but some gamers don't want the inherent acceleration that those mice make you use. The only way to turn off their acceleration is to install SetPoint, tell SetPoint to leave mouse movement "OS Controlled", and install the cpl fix or any other winxp mouse acceleration fix.
I don't think it's convergence. Go to 1940x1200 or 2304x1440 and see if you have the same issue as me.
I can still see it at any widescreen resolution, even 1600x1000, but much less.
Well I just bought the one linked in the first post...
Go ahead with the Tuniq, check any temp benchmark, you'll see it win out over the Zalman.
And yes, I have a BX2 and a Tuniq, both installed without a hitch.
Just make sure you direct the Tuniq's fan towards your case's rear outtake so it creates an outward-going windtunnel.
