I wrote rants like this about Asus' RMA policies 20 years ago. I still buy Asus mainboards, but I wouldn't send them in for RMA.

Why is everybody talking about "preamps"? No preamps are involved in the chain from DAC to amp to speaker.

I do ssh around for actual work, but the problem is that the web browser which I also need is local. And that can be a RAM killer when you have many tabs.

Not when it comes to running x86 virtual machines. That's the major reason I still use my 2019 i9 Macbook Pro. And the battery life is enough to carry it from one A/C outlet to another :)
