For anyone not stressing their cpu, you have a point that the upgrade isnt worth it. For someone who is running an app that keeps cpu at over 80% load at all times, the i7 is going to be a significant boost in computational power. But it seems like you are mad at intel for pushing another quad...
-.- was a joint effort, and dont go claiming my processor as yours... you have your own. But yeah idling at ~45 on core0 and 40 on the other 3 at 3.8ghz atm. And my fans are turned down quite a bit, as others in the house are sleeping. And yeah, if all my fans are turned to max, my system...
Since you have an i7 i assume its not a htpc or server of any sort, in which case I wouldnt reccomend something as little as 450 watts. As Zero said, its really close. Seems like youd want to get something a little beefier to give yourself some headroom for upgrades, graphics processing hasnt...
i find the voltage "sweetspots" as k96 deemed them very odd, but yeah, the qpi wall is frustrating, considering its a chipset limitation, knowing that your proc could go farther... well... is aggravating to say the least. And if he would ever learn to count, he would know there are 5 deltas in...
If you really wanted to, you could be really pro, and use resistors to figure out the two or three voltage settings you like, one for quiet, one for medium, one for if you wanna be a jet engine, and then make a circuit board to have a triple throw switch monitor voltage....probably have to sink...
Cant find anythign about this anywhere, but log gives me: i installed folding@home-x86 as per the forum guide
and
not sure what all of this means, but it all looks good to me until it says i didnt do squat... or it couldnt find a core, but then it made itself a new one, so that seemed...
So, about three weeks to a month ago i installed some new deltas in my antec 1200, and i didnt think i would mind, but the front looks really plain without the LED fans. And im not about to install leds on my deltas, i really like the cathode look, and im wondering if anyone has had any...
lets just classify loud, because there is loud, then there is delta loud. I live on a campus in a four person suite. Four bedrooms, one living room, two bathrooms. Really thin walls, but still, when I turn my fans all the way up, i can hear then as soon as i walk into the front door, with my...
If you are getting the 120x38 delta, just as a heads up, make sure you get a heavy duty controller, they eat up 30 watts per. Im using the sunbeam rheobus extreme for mine :)
Not sure what measurements define high or low profile, but if low profile is 25 (havent seen any normal fans thinner than that) and you can get two low for one high, that would make high profile up to 50? If you dont care about noise and want the most air flow you can get, id recommend a delta...
I have an antec 1200 with 5 delta fans, ranging from 12-29 watts (ish) and the sunbeam rheobus extreme has worked like a charm for me for about a month, no problems at all. highly reccomended.
