A little confused, you saying that temps dropped by 6 degrees even though the fan speed has dropped to 0-5% (from 14%) :confused:

I have done this exact same bios update, using the MSI bios on my HIS card. Everything is working fine with 2d idle at 500/160 and the card is still using the stock heatsink, however I've only noticed a modest drop in temps of around 2c, here's a post I did on another site about it...

Thanks for the replies, obviously when I get an tft screen I will be using native res where possible, and that means at the expense of filtering and some detail settings. However when it's not possible I want to be able to use lower res's, are you guys saying that the VX910 is just average at...

That would be great if you could try out some more games at lower resolutions. Also I suppose I've just got in the habit of running at 1024 x 768, bear in mind I like to run games at max detail and with anti-aliasing and antisotropic filtering at high settings.
