I have 2 8gb G.Skill 3200 CAS 14 sticks. I know from previous CPUs on this mobo that they are capable of much better than their current 1666 clock at the same DOCP latencies. They haven't been good OCers for me since I installed a 5800x. A lot of the problem is that 1usmus has abandoned DRAM...

Are there undrillable or un-dremel-able obstructions on the inner bottom panel of this case which would prevent using such a radiator? Everything else about it seems ideal for my first new ATX build in over 15 years, and it can even accommodate E-ATX boards: Threadripper on SFX PSU ;) (not...
It used to be nice with the AT style to have a switched C13 outlet. I know I've seen pictures of ATX PSUs that have four of them, but not lately. Looking for at least 450w with decent 12v current, which is beyond what most PSUs were doing when I saw the picture last century.
Bueller?
Networking is one part of PC hardware I've never been motivated to teach myself. I do know I don't like wireless much.
Just to minimize lag and electrically isolate my PC and Wii (which has Nintendo's USB-Ethernet adaptor), I use two DSL modems. Never really need to access internet on both...

Drive was bought expressly for its enclosure, which I think has a bad power supply. Most apparent problem is that its tray retracts on its own, just a couple of seconds after eject. This problem disappears when the drive is connected directly to a PC's power supply, but the tray achieves full...
I've been using a line conditioner happily for almost nine years now. But recently I bought a new power supply with active power factor correction.
Will the line conditioner reduce whatever electrical savings I'm getting from active PFC?
My gut feeling is that it won't; that the...
CRT's are available which make staggering refresh rates practical. If I can discuss mainboard architecture without debate about framerate's visibility, I'd like to.
Let's say I want to run a game which hasn't even been patched since 1998 or so. I want un-vsynced framerates over 200Hz...
