$70 is a lot to pay for an extra multiplier. I doubt you will get 4G, you will probably end up using 9x anyway to run your ram 1:1 at decent speeds. So all you pay for is the binning. I still prefer the 6600.
By the same token, if you can’t use the extra megahertz of a 8400 more than five minutes per day, it’s a redundant investment. As endless posts pointed out, you are limited by GPU for games, and movies are not going to use the 4g. Plus the 6600 is CHEAPER than the 8400. So how is...
most people will never be able to tell the difference between a dual and a quad most of the time. To make things more interesting, why don't you compare the $190 2.2GHz 9500 and the $60 E2140?
I have a biostar M7NCG nforce2 board, running xp-m 2200 at 158x14,
I boot into windows only to find that the AGP/PCI lock is set at 100/50!
I lowered it to 66/33 manually, but now I think this cannot be right since
I doubt my hdd can work at PCI 50, I am also using onboard graphics.
Please...
love my $70+tax combo of 3000+ with ECS mb. Running 250x10 24/7, 1.5v. Tried
higher FSB but I think the mb is holding back. Anyway very happy for such a cheap
combo.
