That is not true. Viewsonic have a zero dead pixel policy as standard on their lcd monitors.

Hi I had the VP201b for a week and had the same problem. It is not fault per se with the screen - it is due to the monitors having 6 bit rather than 8bit panels. If you buy a lcd with an 8bit panel then you will see no lines.

Surely you can adjust the scaling via the graphics card display driver. So you would tell the driver to display at 1:1 ratio.

if those specs are correct then Dell clearly hasn't learned anything regarding the brightness issue from the 2405. The 2407 still has the same level of brightness, which to many is way too bright even when turned all the way down. I think it is disappointing.

The general rule of thumb is to set AGP Aperture size to half of the system ram. However, setting to 256mb, is known to be the sweet spot. Mine has always been set to 256mb and it is always suggested that if you have any problems that you should set to 256mb.

I'd be interested to know what are the full specs of this monitor - and what the true response rates are. If this is an 8 bit panel and with a total response rate of less than 16ms in all circumstances - then it sounds like an incredible monitor.

You don't use a backplate for socket 478 with this Zalman heatsink. I have it on an Asus p4c800 deluxe motherboard and it is fine.
