I was able to get the firmware to update by factory resetting the monitor, setting the refresh to 144hz, and shutting off my second monitor. Not sure which of those three was the trick, but it worked.
Just fyi for anyone in the future that might have the same updating problem.
Edit: Also, the...
I picked mine up as soon as it was available. One annoyance is the front RGB strip. Every time I turn the monitor off then back on, it doesn't remember my setting for OFF. There was a firmware update on 6/05/23 that fixes that, but the update fails every time I try it. I do have a USB extension...
Ducky One with Cherry MX - Clear. Logitech g303, Logitech G305, test running a Razer Naga Trinity and Logitech G600 for MMO's.
Always thought an MMO mouse would make things quicker in MMO's, just scared to try. It doesn't help that the MMO mice are the size of dinner plates and I have short...
Sounds likely to be V-Sync related. Possibly has a garbage mouse like the Logitech G600 that would not allow a firmware update, and it needed one to fix that latency issue if I remember.
Was it present on your old setup with the same mouse?
I preordered from B&H on July 9th, thinking I wouldn't get an order in on time for the 5 mins newegg would have them available.
Still haven't recieved a damn word on it. To make things worse, I have a complete PC worth of equipment sitting here waiting to be built... that will be outside its...
There are also 4 100uf capacitors (one 16v one 35v) I think that are always on even when it's switched into headphone mode. If I replace those I think that might get rid of the hum in the headphone amp portion. Hmmmm don't have a pencil soldering iron or the pics that guy sent me a couple years...
I have had the Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Ultra's since they came out. I stopped using them about a year ago. I was in apartments for years and never could really use the speakers. I just used the little control pod as a headphone amp most of the time and that saved the components in the amp. I did...
Wow, that sounded much better than the other video. Now i'm only scared how well it will cool when vertical in my FT02. I've read when the gpu is above the heatpipes on these cards, they don't cool as well when oriented vertically. I've also read that these heatpipes were made to work in all...
Performance/$$$$ with sound being 2nd to those. Just can't sound annoying or loud.
My last three cards were: 8800GTX when it came out, 5970 on release, GTX580 a fair amount after release for... reasons. Now I have a 980ti ordered. I was going to wait to see the Perofrmance/$$$$ of the Fury X...
I already purchased the G1 on newegg. It's not in yet, but after hearing it on that video... i'm kind of regretting it. I'll just have to wait and hear how horrible it sounds in my case.
Someone on the evga forum linked it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25515gnTmjM
That really isn't enough info to go off of. You may not even hear it in your case. I just couldn't justify spending that extra $60 either. May not hear it, or it may be a good bit louder than i'd like, dunno...
I just went with the Gigabyte G1 GTX 980ti. It looks like the cooler on it works really well.
I was going to go with the EVGA 980ti Hybrid but I was reading that the pump is really loud. I wasn't sure the radiator would fit at the top 120mm spot in my case anyways. I have a Silverstone FT02...
I bought the Silverstone FT02 when it first came out... 2009 I think. I had a Radeon 5870 reference blower in there for the first couple of years then switched to a Galaxy GTX 580 with triple fan blowing air in the case.
This Silverstone FT02 has been keeping everything cool and quiet for...
I believe the Z-5500's have their own DAC's. So when you use your optical cable to the Z-5500's you are not getting the features of your Z card. You might as well output Optical from an onboard solution and get the same out of the Z-5500's. That's why there are two options in the play back...
S3 Virge (graphics decelerator)
Riva 128
Riva TNT ( 3 different versions of these because of the problems... if I remember right)
Voodoo 3 1000 agp (strange version in a Compaq.. not the 3000)
ATI Radeon 32mb (Many problems)
ATI Radeon 8500 (good)
ATI Radeon 9800 (awesome)
ATI Radeon x700...
Well I bought the Micca MB42x with that Sound Appeal SA-100T (pretty sure it's a Dayton DTA-100a clone).
I have the amp going to my old Sony SA-W305 sub via the Speaker-Level In's. Then it goes through Speaker-Level out to the Micca MB42x's.
The sub seemed really weak so I hooked it's RCA in...
I do have an old Sony STR-DE415 Reciever laying around. I don't know how I would hook that up to the PC though.. or if I could just reuse my Klipsch speakers on it. I also don't want some latency caused by my old receiver doing some ancient rain dance I don't understand.
Unless someone could...
I've heard about the amp in the Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Ultra's going bad all of the time. I haven't used them since I've been in an apartment. So I was surprised when certain channels started getting quiet.
I've had them hooked up directly to my Sound Blaster X-fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro, and I...
S3 Verge . Over 11 too.
The old 97000 is sitting in the garage somewhere. I can't remember if I put a 60mm CPU heatsink on that or my original Radeon 32mb.
Awesome. I never got to use the xornets sensor. I picked up the CM Storm Spawn and was a bit worried because of all the posts about 800dpi issues on their forums but it tracked pretty well for me. I just could not get over that ridge some people seem to like for the ring finger. I hate it...
It uses an old Laser sensor. Not sure how I feel about that. The g3 that is. http://www.overclock.net/t/854100/mouse-reference-thread
ohhhhhhh mmmmmmmm  Thanks for that link End0rphine. That looks rather good. I'll read more and see what sensor they are putting in.
Edit: oh same sensor...
I'm glad someone else shares my opinion.. almost. I like the shape of a ball mouse they had before that one but, that pilot would be my second choice. If it had 2 small left side thumb buttons and a good optical sensor..... I would buy 5 of them or more. That is basically what I have been...
The 120hz asus I had was smooth as hell. It's definitely worth it. You don't have to worry about what frames your machine can push. I'm using an old Westinghouse 37inch W3 and even if BF3 dropped to 40 frames in some area's the monitor still is so much faster and smoother than the big old W3...
When I had the newer Asus 27in 120hz monitor... I had vsync off no matter what my framerate. It does not matter what computer you have. You don't have to have over 100fps.... That is absurd. I always avoid vsync because of the horrible input lag it creates in any situation.
I had 3 faulty g9x mice I had to return, so I gave up on them. Kind of a shame since I liked the first g9.
My xai with the same sensor tracks well on my 9hd.
I've had my 37W3 since early 2007 and it's still almost perfect. I've always turned it off when i'm sleeping or at work. I've also only had the backlight on the 20 setting for its life. That is untill I moved a month ago and I now have a large window creating glare behind me now. I'm trying the...
I owned TN panels in the past and was perfectly fine with them. The viewing angles didn't bother me... because I am right in front of the damn thing. Then in 2007 I bought a 37 inch Westinghouse LVM37W3.
I believe it is some sort of VA panel.
Last week I picked up a 27inch Asus vg278h 120hz...
Picked mine up yesterday. Just turned it on. The oval is already forming. I don't think I want to deal with all the other issues with it either. The colors, the backlight bleed, and it being tiny.
It's tough though... because I went from a Westhinghouse 37w3 to this and this thing is so fast...
I've delt with a nasty stutter since the 5870 came out in 2009. I spent many months trying to solve it by swapping every single part in my PC. Nothing fixed it untill I got rid of my i7 920 and 930 with x58 mobo and moved up to a i7 2600k and z68 with a GTX580.
My stutter was a bit more harsh...
