I found the same: the 9361 model lists 1GB memory, but my 9341 lists only the proc and no RAM spec.
I suppose I can fire up the HP4320 in one slot, and the LSI in another and see what I think.
then on to testing the expander. I will post my results...
I have an aging Highpoint 4320 with the HP SAS expander hooked up.
I won the LSI 9341-8i at LAN. I can't find RAM amount on the LSI, but I am guessing on throughput alone the LSI can easily outperform the aging Highpoint.
However, I can find no listing of tested expanders, nor verify if...
I recently went to switch my Norco 4220 from 12 up to 16 drives and couldn't get any other lanes to populate.
Tried cable swaps, figured I must have a bad backplane, then I got a NEW Norco 4224, and still the same issue so I figure my HP SAS expander might/must have bad ports?
What current...
over the weekend I hunkered down and worked towards getting the final top deck done:
1. Cardboard test layout -
2. then layout on my tape with sharpie using t-square
3. some scroll saw work
4. and on to cutting the intake airway
I have quite a bit of smoothing and...
Thanks for the compliment, I am lucky and glad it went well!
I had never done Fiberglass or CF work before, but I have a chum who does Aerospace stuff and manufacturing and he helped direct me a little.
A.) all CF layers is way more expensive than Fiber for thickness and CF for rigidity...
got the new ThermalTake Toughpower Grand Platinum 700W installed for a trial run!
It's white and I'm not sure I want to paint it.
It's a bit bigger than the EVOBlue 2.0 was, but my placement still have enough to accomodate that.
The fan doesn't spin! At least, not until it hits 40%...
got my replacement PSU from the kind folks at Thermaltake.
Instead of the EVOBLUE 2.0 they sent a Grand Platinum 700W!
Upside: 93% efficiency at my expected load
Downside: White!
PSU task list:
1. paint shell either black or candy apple red to tie in with CF/Kevlar
2. cut off all...
:) The LCD won't be INTEGRATED so much as ATTTACHABLE when in use.
I am going to bond another CF/Kevlar sheet to the interior of the lid and bolt a double-joing LCD arm to it with a Quick-Release VESA plate on it.
Step 1: roll into LAN
Step 2: open lid
Step 3: extend LCD arm
Step 4...
I haven't put it all "together" with the pelican except to be sure it fit...trying to get the power issue resolved: something caused it to blackout a couple times during GuildGame Night much like WEI was crashing.
I put my Kill-a-watt on it and at 400W +/- load in WEI it trips off. Not sure...
testing some games and the only thing NOT working right is WEI: it crashes about halfway through. I will get around to Steam games and running Tomb Raider and some newer games to see if I can stress the Titan or my PSU enough to replicate the WEI crash.
Otherwise, all is good so far.
thx! I finally got my bubbles settled out of the pump, drug my monitor, KB, Mouse, and external Optical out to install OS.
Temps stable, looking at desktop usage core temps around 85-90F and GPU at 77F.
I will start installing games and Steam shortly and watch temps as I run games and...
After seeing how badly Photobucket changed their linking method (it has been a while since I use the Thumbnail method) I reverted to full image code.
Sorry to those whose were kind enough to suffer through all the windows opening with Photobucket garbage :(
Last night I finished my...
This is mainly a build log, since the project is all but done, and I didn't stop to take pictures of the boring old "look I drilled some holes!"
My main gaming rig was still rockin' an H67 mobo with a 2500K and milking a 480GTX overclocked on watercooling.
I was ready for a new set of...
any other news on release date? Their website lists BIOS date of 8/8 and Utility software dated 9/27 but I get no shopping hits while searching.
My main reason for wanting this particular ITX is the NB spacing looks like watercooling won't require whacking any pins off or interfere with BIOS...
I have a Norco SAS 20 bay, using X48 mobo still running Vista 64 with a Highpoint 4320 card linked to an HP expander.
I want to switch over to a spare X58 motherboard, 920 CPU, and then stick Win7 64 on it.
I am guessing I can just close down the Array in the GUI, shut down the PC, then...
I have one...won it at GeForce LAN6.
I love it, especially at my price!
I don't have your GPU, but my 480GTX runs most of my DX10 stuff just fine in S3D. I don't run FRAPs, but I haven't noticed any framerate issues.
Can you run Crysis 2 at max high texture in S3D with no issues? I...
just realized I have my first bad sector out of 8 Hitachi 64Mb drives...so shopping 2TB gangs.
Is the Hitachi 5k3000 currently shipping any issue if I have a HighPoint 4320 and the HP SAS expander?
I know I could ask in the 5k3000 thread, but I don't think the HP SAS owners are as likely...
LAN went well, no issues, no BSOD, all gaming just fine, all temps stayed within limits for a rig with only ONE 80mm exhaust fan at 20cfm.
Fair amount of interest and disbelief that the Radiators actually moved, but easy enough to verify when I push and they slide.
Very nice to slide in...
you can use pure chemical alcohol (like from lab class): when it dries up very quickly, it tends to take moisture with it IIRC
but a full day, well ventilated, dry air, maybe two just to be sure.
My previous SFFs were a Qmicra v1, Qmicra v2, and an Antec 900 I chopped down to 14" with an mATX X58 in it.
My current: it's not conventional, but at 1.10 cubic feet I think its SFF ;)
it's life began as one of these...
thanks for checking out my Blog gang...I go off to PDXLAN tomorrow to really put this this to the test Gaming-Wise.
So far pretty happy with it, let's see how it handles LAN-length gaming sessions!
just dropping a quick link that with lurking input from the group here I did finish up my custom ITX build.
have a read here:
http://dgephrimodblog.blogspot.com/
Mods: it's sort of a build log, but the pictures and benchmarks might help others going SFF/ITX to gauge their options.
there is one page that has an interesting bit for you:
"Our final test for this page is overclocking where we have moved to an i7-2600K CPU as the i3-2100 cannot be overclocked to any great level. With the i7-2600K installed we were able to increase the CPU speed to 4.5GHz, that's over 1GHz...
what are you system temps on that H67N board? I am on watercooling, with external radiators... so very little heat is generated in my case, but the SYS temp hovers in the 50s.
You have your CPU fan ventiliating your SYS temp, but I wondered what yours sits at? Thx for any info.
Sorry, I think I saw Zotac in one text block and the H67 in another and put them together in my brain. :)
Still, nice stuff, good pointers for when I do my watercooled ITX.
I am considering that H67 board for a more "robust" gaming build, and Zotac states there is a BIOS revision that has something to do with Overclocking.
I know you are undervolting and such, but could you take a picture of that option if you update the BIOS so we can see what it offers...
FWIW, the season folder structure is completely optional from what I read on XBMC forums and my structure confirms that as well:
Folder = TV show name + Year in most cases
files = all seasons mixed w/critical naming ".SxxExx." and anything else around it.
I have 4 seasons of some animes...
I started a thread in Data Storage, but nobody answered, maybe Odditory or somebody else here will answer:
I have a Highpoint 4320, HP SAS expander, currently running 8X1TB Hitachi 64MB Cache drives in RAID5.
I want to purchase a gang of 2TB drives and go to 5X2TB in RAID5 for expansion in...
current setup is:
Norco 4220 with 120mm Fan mod (my own)
8X1TB Hitachi 64Mb cache Deskstars (4X 1st gen, 4X last year purchase)
1XHighpoint 4320 RocketRAID
1XHP SAS expander from Synergy, SAS cabling
running off MSI X48 mobo with ATI 4550 GPU (waiting to go 3D soon)
My RAID...
I am eager to see this hit US shelves/sites for sale.
I can see gutting it for a number of changes internally, but those details won't come for some time. :)
just in case it matters, I had my 4320 for a while by itself, and updated my FW and such to most current available from HighPoint before I unplugged drives and cables...I currently use all Hitachi 1TB Deskstars in a Norco 4220 case (with the SAS backplanes).
I also have a HighPoint 4320 working with an HP SAS expander running 8 drives in RAID.
Plugged one 8087 from the 4320 to the HP SAS and then two out to my backplanes in my Norco 4220.
I plan to populate more drives shortly, but for now, all 8 are working without interruption. I ordered...
