Hey I was wondering if there is a way to set up a USB drive letter to remain constant. I use a portable hdd to backup my system every night and the backup uses drive letters. So I want to make sure that portable hdd has the same drive letter no matter what, is this possible?
So here is my problem.
I just bought a ps3 and when i hook it up to the net it will kick one of my other devices off. (with a conflicting ip address error) now here is where it gets tricky
when i have 5 devices using the router everything works fine and the ips of said devices are .100...
@ CrimandEvil ffdshow is the only thing that shows up under my dvd decoder. And your right I am not quite sure what I am doing but none of the guides say anything about setting up something other then ffdshow under the dvd (mpeg2) decoder. I guess they assume people know what they are doing, but...
well i tried zoom player but when I try to set ffdshow raw video to my dvd decoder I get an error, also when I try register it in zoom player it says it cant find ffdshow.ax so get this I search my comp using the search it cant find it either so I go into the dir /program files/ffdshow well low...

anyways I have just learned about ffdshow and its magic. But it doesnt seem to be working with windows media player 11 when playing dvds. It is however working with avi files played with wmp so maybe I just haven't discovered...
Well I have been having the same problem too. I was really hoping this would fix it but when i boot from the CD it starts its thing and then after a few pages of text it gives me some error. ARGH!
ohh and mine stopped working after I installed a new soundcard.
