I too have many fond memories of EQ but mostly because of the friends I made within the game. Give me those groups (and guilds) back and we'll see if I play again. ;)
I don't think I could ever play a real MMO again because of time restraints but also because it would be impossible to match...
I get it the CD-less version and enjoy it for something to look through. I do like some of their recent editorial columns. I mostly like the podcast for work-listening material.
Odd World original two games, my own fault though, not what I thought they would be. Maybe Braid and Audiosurf, just couldn't get into either game. SFIV, my controller feels sloppy with it but maybe I can't play a SF game without a true arcade stick. :( But oh well, that is the beauty of the...
Everquest was very much Evercrack for me, mainly because I kept making new friends for perma-groups / raiding that kept me going. Eventually gave up the game but have actually kept in touch those friends... still hope to meet some of them face-to-face some day, lol.
Meh, my wife loves the idea that I am getting good deals on the sales, plus she knows I'm not a big time impulse buyer with them. Of course the Christmas sales are always the biggest temptations... can't wait!
I grabbed Chime as well, seems fun but could only play a few minutes last night. I too hope they hit some games I already own but I haven't bought much lately any ways. I am going to play along but I won't shell out much to have a chance. Oh, being one of the "daily" winners would be pretty...
- Grouping with friends in EQ, learning to charm mobs for massive DPS
- Avatar of War (and others) kill with my guild
- Seeing Half Life for the first time
- ending of SS2
- hours of UT:GOTY and TA in college over a make-shift LAN
- finishing Phantasy Star II
I just started re-playing the game and only am a few hours in so far this time. I did have one crash and I don't recall having problems when I originally played at the beginning of the year.
"Castle of the Winds" reminds me of a game I used to play LONG ago on a Mac. Square board you would wonder around and I remember collecting different wands to help take out the mobs.
I've been trying to catch up on some stuff, so I'm down to just a few. I do have a few games from packs that won't be bothering with, like Unreal 2 that I tried for a hour and promptly ditched. Nice thing is not feeling bad for not liking a game when I only spent $5 on it. My big question is...
I really liked PQ on my DS but it got real repetitive and the spells never did enough for me. I liked the concept though, an improved version would stay on my radar... DS though, can't see myself playing a game like this on PC where I have better options lined up. (unless a big Steam sale of...
I really enjoyed the DoW 2 games and turned me onto the WH40K setting, I am definitely going to keep on eye on this. Relic has been making some fine PC titles.
I got it in the 4-pack when it first came out and never regretted it, I've got well over 100 hours into it now. I thoroughly enjoy the single-player and had a blast playing a full day once with 3 friends. DLC has been pretty good too, mostly with Knoxx.
Pre-summer sale I picked up Dawn of War 2 Gold Ed. for $20 and I have really enjoyed it. I love tweaking the squads and then jumping right into the action for each mission.
I'm sure they'll have weekend and mid-week sales again soon enough.
I grabbed Red Faction: Guerrilla for the $5 deal, looks interesting and something to try down the road. Now to catch up on actual gaming, including xmas sale deals from months ago... :o
Glad I'm not the only one that gave up on SFIV because of Seth. I always planned on going back to it though, this threads gives me some inspiration to do so.
Nice, sale day for Borderlands and I finally got Moxxi at the right price of $3.39. Now I can finally stash all the guns I picked up in Knoxx, then go back to it to finish up the side-quests there. :)
I'm glad Steam has a Wish List now, now if I could just one of those games to go on a deep discount. Titan Quest is tempting but I think I'll wait for a few days to see what else pops on the daily deals.
King's Bounty is very good! Easily worth it for $10 for the gold edition. I haven't played KB:AP yet but my buddy told me it was even better than the base game.
I'm looking at Indigo Prophecy and hoping to get Borderland's Moxxi if they put it on sale.
