the reason i was thinking about alienware is because of the great reviews they have had with regards to the build quality. i know i can kit out a high end laptop online for about £300 cheaper but im concerned about being sent a bit of cheap plastic with high end kit inside.
as for the ram and...
Thanks for all the replies, I was concerned about the AMD card when using cs6, so would prolly go for an nvidia based system. I did consider an older model but you really restricted to eBay, and I hate buying and selling electronics on there as I have had problems in the past.
Anyway guys you...
well its 13 places down from the best class 1 cards on NotebookCheck and that includes SLI and Xfire so i guess its not to bad a card? bear in mind im not a milionare =]

I would never use that UI on my desktop. they should just do Win8 tablet edition and Win8 desktop edition. Who wants a oversized cell phone style OS on there desktop?
I just sold my awsome panasonic SD MiniDV camcorder that i have been using for 3 years.
But i need a change and i dont have alot of money ATM. Within the price range i stated do you think there is a good camcorder out here that can shoot 1080?
My main focus is quality of the lens. Storage and...
ok i fixed the problem.
when i enterd my email address and pass e.g:
[email protected]
.........
the mail app put the pop3 and smtp as [pop3.live.co.uk and smtp.live.co.uk] this was the problem, i just needed to change the smtp and pop3 to .com's even though i have a .co.uk...
Apparently its because I use a xxx.live.co.UK account not a .com account.
I have no idea why this would be a problem but apparently it is.
At this point still no fix ....very unhappy ...
Hi guys, just got an HTC desire on contract today and when i went to add my windows live email account i just get the error "cannot connect to the mail server to verify you account. your server is not responding"

I needed a computer for my living room so i decided it was time to build a HTPC so i could stream films and TV shows from my gaming / file server upstairs. I wanted to have it completely wireless for steaming HI-res films but my budget didnt allow for an upgrade of my current 802.11g to an...
ok i have had my aser 6930g laptop for just over 12 months now. its pre installed with win vista, and during this time i have used the acer recovery software once, just so i can get a fresh install. however i decided one day (today) that i didnt want all the bloatware that come with the...
As the title says i have to restart my router quite often in order to get an ip address from the DHCP. I have 3 wirless devices (2 laptops and an ipod touch) and 1 wired PC and all suffer from this problem, usualy after a few hours of non use. I recently did a firmware upgade to the latest...
I know its hard to find, infact it was only today that i found the antec mini, that has 5 internal 3.5''. as for the lian li you pointed me to, its a nice case but i was just in hope of not having to buy 5.25'' - 3.5'' converters, for future upgrades;)
My digital files have started to get a bit out of control and have decided to build a small file server to dump all my files on and share over the LAN. i intend to put two 500GB drives in it and at a later date put one or two 1TB drives in (when i have the money)
i want to build it arround a...
To much money. but i get the idea. thanks for the advice. two High-end SSD's in 0 and OC'ed i7 is a big price to pay for what i want, so looks like i will have to record in low res from now on =]
cheers for the info guy's, probably would have come to the same conclusion if i had took the time...
ok 1st off tryed lower res settings and it still takes a masive hit to the FPS.
Ok so the are some fundamental, mathematical reasons why this is happening. But surly there must be a way i can record my HI-Res / MAX-settings, gameplay, without a huge FPS hit?
any options...without shuving...
Well i figured that any Chug-a-long would be eliminated now i have my GTX260, i mean come on its only COD4 w/ a 3rd party video recorder taking note of the events, so is this to much for a GTX260 to handel?
i mean, im not asking it to play Crysis in DX10 at ridiculous resolutions... then...
hello everyone. i just bought my 1st GTX260 today,
its the XFX CORE edition, possibly from 2008, as it was on sale. however, i thought considering i was upgrading from an 8600gt (insert laughs here) i would have no problem taking vids with fraps of my triumphant wins on COD4. it seams i am...
well i dont want my TV to be my primary monitor, all i want to do is make my tv display a ''clone'' of the desktop i can see on my laptop screen. right now all my TV is doing is showing an exstention of my laptops desktop. this was good for the job i needed at the time, but now i just want to...
ok, just pluged my acer notebook into my HDTV for the 1st time, via the HDMI port. and it displayed my desktop perfectly (with sound).
However i wanted to browse the net whilst another person watches the BBC iPlayer, so i extended my desktop to the second monitor (the HDTV) all went well, i...
I have just reinstalled Xp on a laptop for a friend, done this many times over the years but for the life of me i cannot find the drivers for the wireless network card on the internet, even from the makers website its an Atheros AR5005G.
Can anyone help?
may be a bit hard to play with a small track pad (you need to be quick) however you should be ok playing it on your netbook, i had it running on my AAO with the GMA945 chipset.
There seams to be a conflict in infomation here. Can anyone confirm if DVI does have the ability to carry audio and if so has this always been the case, even back in the old 6600gt days? if so why has this ability only started to be utilized on recent video cards?
perhaps there has never been...
After a bit more research i found out that alot of the new AMD video cards have a sound chip onboard so it enables the DVI to carry audio, so using the DVI - HDMI adapter will be fine for both audio and video. i also found out that some of the new nvidia card will carry audio down the DVI, wich...
i think this thread has raised more questions than answerd =] the tv being used will not accept a seperate audio signal if it detects an HDMI video signal is being received, the tv just assumes audio is being transmitted through the HDMI.
as for the DVI carrying audio when using the DVI -...
Well as far as i know using the DVI to HDMI adaper would be no good, as DVI does not carry audio... the adapter would not give the source DVI audio capabilities.
well i figured i was just going to plug it into my TV and it would output at least stereo through the two speakers on my TV. i dont intend to use it to play back music ect... i will assume by what you said i wont get 5.1 through the HDMI?
ok thanks for the info. anyone know why not all modern video cards have dedicated HDMI? i would have thought this to be standard now as so many people use there PC's on there TV's.
