When will this display come to be?!?!?! Because it's the perfect monitor.
27in Display or better
IPS family panel
LED Backlit
120Hz Refresh
Low input lag
No anti glare coating
My buddy is looking for my help in finding the ultimate laptop right now. One where I can go and configure it for him.
Whats do you suggest... Money really is no object
xoticpc.com??
Alienware??
ETC???
I still love my 275T. It's my main monitor but it does seem to have input lag and I hate it.
I am about to give up on a 27in+/120Mhz/LED backlit/LOW input lag screen...
Where the hell are they?
I sympathize with your question, but there is no set date.
I am looking forward to your specs but 26+ inches, LED backlighting, sub 15ms inputlag.
Until then my 275t will have to suffice... or I may get a LG w3000
If this panel degrades then I think you need to look at environmental things... no one is that unlucky...
Or companies are that much of bastards and I dont realize it.
Gorgeous look...
If you want to tinker (I love to cut cases, I can't bring myself to do the outside of my TJ-07 (ermmm why would I?)) you could cut a nice blow 140mm blow hole and top it off with a very discrete AC Ryan grill.
50$ says you see a great drop in temps, plus its a nice way to...
CPU is dead?
Umm not to my favorite game/sim LockOn Modern Air Combat
I could add Quad SLI and it would only add a few frames (okay maybe more)... CPU is where its at in that game.
With regards to the fastest human reaction time being in the 130+ ms range... This really doesn't stop the conversation about if input lag matters. Due to the fact that no matter how quickly one reacts, their counterpart is getting a head start on the reaction of seeing you.
I think this...
MIR rebates .... ummmmmm I probably get about 40% of them back.
Noooo im not an idiot, I know how to follow instructions on how to fill them out... they simply disappear.... poof ...
They're F_____g scams... especially the small priced rebates...
I would still go for the 8800gt
It could be helping.... or it could just be placebo...
but, for you Nvidia users, try using the newest series of drivers and setting "Maximum pre rendered frames" to 0 .... In swear over the 2 weeks it has helped my COD4 scores. I should set to clone and take some input lag comparison shots.
This review is not thorough enough....
They really need to test it for input lag, the addition of the scaler may have issues for the input lag.
Their excuse for not hardware color calibrating is not good... especially when they admit it took alot to calibrate it by hand.
No comments of screen...
What exactly is meant by this in Dells webpage... about Display Port
" The benefits of DisplayPort include:
* Twice the performance of DVI for higher resolutions, color depths and refresh rates ..."

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm.... These are complete guesses
- TN's will have more Wide Gammut CCFL's
- Scaler Chips on 30inchers will render them too laggy for games.
- WG-CCFL's will match LED color gammuts, but LED's will minimize backlight bleed... Oh yeh, and all the LED screens you want will...
Ok... Here's my final answer... I don't think Input lag matters... I think it's more mental
Sorry for being a flake...
I played and played COD4 and TF2 at different points many time these past weeks and I can still run the tables on a map.
Here's my guess... Input lag in the FP shooters I...
Ok... so i wasn't going to haul the 275t over to my families house but I did bring the gateway 2185 and tested it against the CRT (cloned at 1024x768, ATI card, both on VGA connections) and the gateway was on average 23ms slower than the CRT.
If I tack on the difference between the Gateway and...
I have been doing clones at 1920x1200... which might add a frame to the 21in Gateway. All this is really semantic... I need to get both monitors against a CRT and will do so soon after the holiday.
I'll do a write up... I have been taking notes and am not new to isolating variables... I hope...
Well what's worse... The 2185w is a PVA panel... So the aggregate Input lag of this monitor may very well be in that range.
I am going out of town and will certainly be testing this against my brothers CRT. I will test the Gateway then the Samsung against the CRT.
I still can't quite tell...

"Update: Dell has sent us updated information detailing that the 3008WFP uses an S-IPS panel, not an S-PVA as previously advised"
"While it is a non-glossy screen...."
This picture says all you need to know about which one has the superior picture, given you can control your ambient lighting.
Look at the matte screen and realize this... if you're altering the light that is ENTERING (ambient) the panel then you are also altering the light EXITING (source) the...
I use Windows XP ...have tried two drivers so far and the yield the same results... I'll get to the other stuff later.
That 2185 clip... I have seen that. I would consider that one defective.
Dude.... Thank you... I totally had that reversed
Yep I can confirm now...
Ok... I'm...
Am I interpreting the results wrong? I thought this to mean that the 275t (31ms) was rendering the clock timer sooner than the 2185w (63ms)... I think thats what it means
Do it.... Shutter speed is important though... We all need to do this against CRT's though, thats the real test.
To my surprise (this being the most active forum on Displays on the net) there is no dedicated discussion of the dreaded "input lag." Yet you hear about it in many threads.
"Only go with TN Panels"
"40ms difference will get you killed"
"No way humans can even notice"
"I game fine on XXX...
So... My old primary gaming monitor is a Gateway 21inch 2185w. Many a night I have thrown up 25-5 etc. kill counts on COD4 and the like. I'm not saying im some leet gamer, just that I have had some regular success while playing (no, not camping lol.)
Ideally I need to get my hands on a CRT...
Read the huge thread already going on...
Beyond that there tons of stuff.... none will do as well as hardware calibration
Here's a nice one
http://tft.vanity.dk/
LOL.... since no one that owns this monitor or has reviewed it is ever listened to and believed about Input Lag, I guess owners will just have to keep posting that there is no negative effect.
My 275t is coming tomorrow or the next day and I will do a write up or something.
If there is Input...
Another experienced tech media reviewer loving newer TN panels... This isn't the FHD 2400 but I bet you its a similar panel if not the same one.

This website reviews ALOT of lcd's... mostly European available screens
I do...
Ian.... could you write up a conclusion to this extensive testing. I like to read the conclusions first then back read if my interest is caught. Sorry....LOL
