I have a mbp 2010 with 2 HDDs installed: Intel 80 SSD, and WD640blue as storage drive.
I was never satisfy with the 640 due to its incredibly slow speed. I used to dual boot Windows 7 and it would take close to 5 minutes to load up. I got fed up one day and deleted my windows partition all...
Thanks I will check it out.
So these kind of speakers must attach to an amplifier in order for them to work? And the amp you suggested looks a little bit too small (both size and power) for these speakers. I know my tiny z5500 satellites each takes around 30-50w of power for them to sound right.
They are Yamaha NS-A2835 speakers. Suggested watts on the back is 10-160W. I can only find the two speakers by themselves and nothing more. I don't really hope to make a complete setup but I want to make use of them since they look like pretty decent speakers.
I found some old speakers in my parent's with red and black clips labeled plus and minus on the back. I don't have much experience with these except for my logitech z5500 system. I know they take speaker wires but I don't know how to set it up so I can play music from my iphone using them. My...
I had everything down to the lowest (including res).
Here's the spec.

TF2 for mac runs even slower than the windows version on the same machine. You get the idea.
I think the problem lies in the very tiny vram it has. Is there a way to get around it?
Well, I have Windows 7 on my mac. Despite that windowss runs very slowly, I can still manage to play Starcraft 2 without any major problem. But TF2 on the other hand, stutters quite a lot even though I had my settings down to the lowest. I have the early 2010 15" mbp. I played through Mass...
I have a X25-M 80GB ssd on my new MBP. I just realized that each time i close my lid, my mac writes everything into the harddrive and save to RAM (aka hybrid sleep/S3 on windows). I am thinking, should I turn it off to preserve life of the SSD? Though I read some articles recently about how...
I have the X25-M and it works well in with my MBP. I advice putting it in the optibay instead of regular slot due to the vibration of mechanical drives. Though I run my boot camp on the slower drive instead. To be warned, you will have very hard time installing boot camp without internal optical...
Hmm, I don't know if we are on the same age or not. I plan to only take my Macbook with me and leave the rest of the back up bulk at home, where I won't visit often. I know that Atom is the way to go, but considering making a NAS using parts from the P4 age cost me literally nothing ( already...
I am going to college next year, and I plan to ditch my desktop and go with only a Macbook pro. I want to maybe set up a NAS using spare, outdated parts at home for my family to use. Here's the question, is it possible to enable me to backup the files on my laptop as well using mac softwares...
I agree completely. Just try to copy 2 separate large folders at the same time you will find that it takes a lot longer. I really hope SSD will come down in price in the next few years to replace mechanical completely.
Okay, I ran HD tune 5 more times in safe mode. Only once was I able to get a consistent curve. The other 4 are relatively good but with 1-3 dips down <10mbs like in the picture. Is it normal enough? I really don't want go through the hassel exchanging it if I don't have to.
I installed my new 640 WD scorpio blue 5400 drive into my MBP. I ran some tests on it. For some reason the read/write rate is very inconsistant and quite a bit lower than what I am seeing online. Is there something wrong with my drive?
I am running boot camp with only 100gb Windows partition...
I did see that deal but thinking 64 is a bit too small and that extra 25% storage would help especially when I want to put a few games along with Windows in it. I looked everywhere and G1 is no where to be found. If it has truly become extinct, I probably would spent more to get a G2 or 128 WD.
I need(want) a SSD for my new Macbook Pro. Since OS X doesn't support TRIM, I am thinking I might save few bucks on the drive. I don't bench or anything, the speed improvement between G1 and G2 probably unnoticeable for my everyday use.
Anyone know where I can get a new G1 X25-M?
P.S. G1 X25-M...
Great webcam, one of the best webcam on the market. I paid 60 for mine.
One thing though, it's kinda big. Hard to carry around with laptop if that's your thing.
Can somebody give me a simpler break down of how much does it cost today to get an iphone or Android with unlimited data plan on top of what my family is already paying for regular service?
I am on ATT, and best to stick with it.
Kind of random question, do you guy use left thumb or right thumb for space key when typing? I used to use left for the obvious reason of a WASD gaming but some long time ago I realized majority of the keys I type are on the left side. So I switched to right and pretty much impossible to use...
I am pretty sure Mac version comes with a different installer, so you can only get 1 version per box. Though you can legally pirate the other version afterward.
I am thinking about the full game when it releases. The last Blizzard game I owned was Starcraft 1 so I don't know much of how they work with CD key, but from what you are saying, it works similar to games on steam: as long I have a key (account) I can play it even cross platform?
I pre-ordered the PC version of the game and wonder if the key will work on a Mac version? I ask this because I probably won't have a PC desktop anymore and switch to a Macbook pro.
Assuming you are on an iPhone, I would get a premium messenger app. They offer a lot more utilities than the basic fring. Other than that, maybe wolframalpha, but there's nothing you can't do if you are connected to the internet.
Look around for interesting apps; there are tons of them...
I want to power my 5850 using external power supply, like those of laptops.
From what I am reading 5850 draws max of 150w. If I take two 12v laptop charger with output > 80w each, then convert them to molex then to pci-e power, would I be able to power the card safely?
Before you ask why...
Is this the one you are talking about?

I assume it's G2 since the description stated it supports TRIM.
I have a iphone 2g and thinking about upgrading this summer. It seems that the verizon incredible is getting a lot of raving reviews, though since my sister will get the new iphone, I don't know if it's cost effective to switch carrier just for the phone. Plus, we are currently on ATT already...
I don't have a laptop yet but will get a rather advance one in the coming months, so it should have N. I don't understand how data is transferred using wifi. Does that mean I can't go online while transferring files? Does that apply to wireless prints as well? How do NAS work then?
Well that's troublesome every time I leave or enter the room :D. Will a Drobo work? Or maybe a USB raid docking station connected to a wireless router?
It would be great if there's something automatically connects to the computer when the computer is in rage, if the speed is sufficient to...
I will be going to college next year and will switch to a laptop only solution with SSD only. My question is, what can I use as main storage drives that lets me wirelessly transfer files? I have a pair of 1.5tb drives and would like to use them to store all my videos, picture, music and...
I don't understand the rationale behind this. If you reserve 25% of the drive, doesn't that mean the drive would reach it's allowed capacity before overwriting deleted blocks sooner and run into the speed degradation sooner?
