So basically everything that runs should go on the new SATA drive, rather than split it between several?
Sounds good. Thanks guys! That is indeed much simpler :P.
Alright, heres the deal.
Currently I have...
60gb IDE - OS/Apps
120gb IDE - Games/Storage
The 60gb is putting out too much noise for my tastes, and is extremely old. Plus, more storage is good... SO I'm purchasing a 320gb SATA 3.0gb/s. All drives are 7200rpm.
My question now is this...
What monitoring software is that?
I must confess, I am having affectionate feelings for it that may be detrimental to my mental health.
Awesome mod, btw! Looks great.
I personally throw my support behind HP in most laptop advising I give others.
The quality has always been up to par, at least in my purchases, and their service team tended to always meet my satisfaction.
I too have been more than happpy with HP for my two notebook purchases: The Wal-Mart Black Friday computer, and a tc4400 tablet.
Awesome customer service, from my end! Had to fix the WM computer Hard drive. Had it back in less than three days!
Hello!
I will be entering Engineering School (computer engineering) this fall, and they have "reccomended" that we get Tablet PC's for a few of our classes. It will be required next year, but basically for this year they will let you use theirs only in class.
They have, however...
Look closely enough (if the pictures were clearer) and you'll find that the keyboard holder thing has collapsed, so has the "storage box", and the left leg. Held together nicely with some big ol' screws and strips of wood :D.
Thanks! I fell in love with this thing the second I saw it.
As...
May I suggest taking a peek at the "Rate my Cables" thread in the case mod gallery?
Its where I got tons of inspiration in cleaning mine up a bit, though it still needs work :P. Maybe even post some pictures, and see if any advice is available to help you specifically!
Installed a Scythe Ninja+ and a Zalman VF700-CU yesterday.
As you can see, I had to modify my side fan array a bit to fit the Scythe. Theres plenty of room for it, the top fan just kind of has a few parts that dont like to fit :P. I snapped off the plastic retainers and removed the fan, and...
My first ever attempt at making my cables a bit presentable :P.
My case was a small problem for it, partly because it is quite large, partly because it doesent have a mobo tray, and also partly because I wasent going to lengthen any cables (at least not many :P).
I'd love any comments and...
Oh, cooling is a Scythe Ninja w/ Fan. Temperature probe at the base is showing 30 celcius with normal operation. Just installed, so Arctic Silver isnt settled in yet.
I'm running back exaust, side intake, front intake, and top exaust fans.
Both MBM and ASUS Probe are showing my CPU internal temperature as -80 degrees Celcius. (Note the Negative).
Could something be wrong with the temperature probe, and should I be worried about the rest of the Processor? I've done no Overclocking, and my system details can be found in my Sig...
I am unable to find what temps I should be shooting for in some of my hardware, so I would appreciate it if you could tell me if my temps are suitable. All of these are "normal usage" temps, and not "under load". In fact, i'm just web browsing, so its more likely ot be "idling" :P.
CPU: AMD...
No, I have five fans. The controller can handle seven. Thus, I am adding functionality for seven. (I might use them for something non-fan related eventually, as I doubt myself needing seven fans. Five keeps everything much cooler than most other reports.)
As of now, all five fans are...
How do I wire it in with the others, however?
I currently have seven seperate circuits (one for each fan).
What I cannot figure out is how to cut power to the controller (which powers each fan), yet provide power to each of the fans without going through the controller.
A possible...
I do believe I'm ready for assembly, just waiting for the parts.
However, another Idea has crossed my mind.
In my current plans, I will also have a switch to kill power to the entire controller. The bad part is, in theory, this will kill the fans as well (not only the bright screen). Thus...
I have three temperature probes to place: CPU, HDD, and System.
Where exactly should these be placed, and with what? Do i sandwich the CPU one inbetween the heatsink and CPU? Do i duct tape the HDD one to the top of one of my HD's?
It seems to me that this should be common sense, I just...
I have one of these, and I'm more than pleased wih it. 0 dead pixels, awesome peformace, and I never noticed ab it of the "less-than-black" that is complained about by other people. The fact that you can switch between DVI and Analog is awesome, because I can run both my Linux and Windows box...
I only need them accessable when the first (solid) door is open. They will be hidden from view with everything else when its closed :D.
I just dont want the assembly to hinder the opening of the second door, Since i open it often (And it contains the locking mechanism for the side behind it...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811171055
There you are :D. Check out Newegg's pictures, they should give you all you need.
(I'm at my Girlfriends, and I dont own a Digital Camera or i'd take some custom ^_^. If you need more, I can borrow hers and do it tommorow or...
BTW, How long do LED's typically last in this sort of usage? They will be "On" most of the time in this situation.
Is there any sort of method that does not involve taking this entire thing apart and such to replace a burnt-out LED? (Unless of course their burn times are silly-high :P)
I...
i think i'll just run long wires to the Controller. It'd accomplish the same goal as having a connector in theory, as I can always modify those long cables if needed ^_^.
Would you have any reccomendations as to how to "mount" this? My case's drive bay covers screw into the first swinging...
I see. This i did not know :D
Thus, I shall make a standard male - female cord to connect the controller to the switch, and put female on the recieving end and male on the end where the fan connects.
Thanks for your help! :D. *goes to double his connector order*
Btw, how do these crimp...
That is in a way what i'm doing.
However, i must have a cable running from the Controller (at the front of the case) up to the Switch bay. Any 3-pin mountings ive ever seen have been male, for some reason, thus I thought I would put male connectors on the switch bay. Thus, i would need a...
The fan controller has male connectors on it.
I have no cable to connect the Controller to my new fanbus, so i thought i would just put a male on the fanbus too. I can switch it around, but it'd be the same thing :P.
I have to fabricate the wire from the Controller to the Fanbus, though I...
Ah, the infamous 2ms BenQ.
I'm not too much of an expert in this field, but I'd like to offer to you my little review of this 19' LCD Monitor.
As alot of people have reported, there is a bit of backlight showing on the tops and bottoms of the screen, however in normal usage it is...
Since i want the Controller to control the voltage/fan speed, I cant run everything from one power source. I have to run power for Fan #1 from the #1 slot on the Controller. The controller has one central power source, though :P.
Fun fun fun.
Are the .100 3-pin Molex's commonly used for...
I just read that some fans have a yellow coord to monitor RPMs and such...
If thats the case, i can just run it like the ground straight through, right?
If only i can find all of these parts, I think i'm ready to build, unless anyone can suggest a good addition to my diagram/find a...
Really not sure why yet, but cutting the power to this fanbus cuts power to the entire computer.
This controller does house all the activity lights, system speaker, etc... :P
(I'm just going to tape the LCD screen or something at night :P)
Alrighty, i'm starting the brainstorming process here.
Heres the wiring diagram i have thusfar. (Note: There will be (hopefully) seven of these switches, exact copies of this circuit, on the bus.)
(Only the part between the two male connectors will be the fanbus, i just have to make the...
