If anyone is on the fence, I just saw a Costco ad at my parents' place today, they had 48" C1s for 1099.99. Didn't recall the prices on the other sizes
I have a 48" C1, had there been a 40-42" I'd have gotten that and used the inclueded stand on my desk instead of buying a wall mount from Monoprice.
Way to lobotomize -> don't hook it up to the internet, or at the least update the firmware then disconnect.
I have a RX6800 paired with my C1, been great once I got the display order I wanted set. Freesync Premium VRR works great in game mode for the things I've thrown at it so far (pretty limited compared to some of you; mostly WoW, FC5, Doom 2016/Eternal, Borderlands3)
Ok I did update the firmware and then shut the wifi off on it, and some of these things don't seem to be in the same menus, names, or order anymore.
48C1 settings:
brightness 30, oled brightness 85
set the HDMI I'm using to PC
have "Game optimizer" on
under game optimizer I turned on 'reduce...
thanks guys, if the C1 is just a minor step from the CX I can see why this thread lasted so long.
Any immediate tricks or tips for using as a pure monitor? No sound, no switching, no apps.
I need something in portrait for when I am working from home, don't have another choice right now.
The C1 is 36" away from me, near perfect for field of view. Am still tweaking windows/ui scaling for when not gaming, somethings are fine at 150% some not.
I tried to read up on this thread as much as I could before I decided to buy a 48C1, but I gotta say I love it so far:
Not liking this Dell in portrait though, it is a VA panel and doesn't look so hot when vertical.
As I posted in another thread local MC had 16 3090s where they only had 12 3080s.
Eh I tried but by the time I got there there were already 25+ in line, so I turned around and came back home.
Now that I've seen more numbers I'll probably just go for a 3080 and buy a 4k monitor with the...
Well my local Microcenter says they have 16 3090s (they only had 12 3080s!) in stock and I just got back from checking out the line. There were a solid 25-30 people in line, I didn't even park just slowed down thru the parking lot and came right back home.
Before I left I had tried Amazon -...
No, though I did have two different AIB cards in my cart on Best Buy before they sold out. I chose to not buy as I think I'm going to wait for 3090 or AIO cooled 3080.
Like madpistol says, whatever I can get first (and without paying scalpers).
But I am a little concerned about the back(?)/interior(?) FE card fan essentially exhausting air straight up into the intake of the CPU heatsink.
Recieving internet traffic? router.asus.com is your router management page, it is most likely intercepting DNS or just displaying the host name instead of the IP.
netstat -n won't resolve names or services
I like it so far, though some things frustrated me with the setup. I forgot I had DNS over HTTPS turned on in my main browser and that complicated my setup. It is billed as an enterprise product (I think they should maybe back off that a bit) but I would not expect an enterprise product to do...
I just recently upgraded to a UDM Pro from an ERL + Pi hosted Unifi Controller for my AP. Relearning the EdgeRouter -> Unifi interface.
Now to educate myself about 10G so I can hook my Freenas into the SFP+ port.
I'm going to try my hand at FreeNAS first, if anything it could teach me more about ZFS which would help at work. If I'm hopelessly lost I'll check out Unraid.
I've had some strange hard locks and reboots so I upgraded the fans in my case and replaced the old power supply with a new HX750i.
Dan_D I tried to find the anal retentive carpenter sketch for you but NBC has SNL on a tight leash. Either way my slightly improved cable management might...
Yeah, the error message made it seem like there was a Windows 10 setting I missed. Also it isn't called VBS in the bios either. Thankfully it works now.
Trying to get the new Ryzen Master installed and getting this error:
Any ideas? I had HyperV installed as I was planning on testing some VMs from work, but even after uninstalling and rebooting I still get that error.
ETA, so I installed the latest bios for the MEG X570 ACE and it reset...
I said I reused it from my previous machine, which I didn't mention was built in 2012/2013 era.
Exactly, I did my research at the time and it reviewed well: https://www.hardocp.com/article/2009/10/08/ocz_z_series_z850m_850w_power_supply_review/9
I haven't upgraded in forever, so I took a big leap from my i7-3820:
3900X
MSI MEG X570 ACE
2 x 16GB Gskill RipjawsV (3200 16-18-18-18-38)
Reused GTX1080 (nothing sways me for the money yet)
Corsair MP600 1TB (holy shit is this faster than my old 840PRO, 1st NVME drive)
Micron 1100 2TB
Reused...
Yay, checked the website during my morning shit and the 3900x was in stock at the MN Microcenter. Have it reserved and am going to get it in about an hour.
Oh yeah my beef lies with the shipping company Microcenter had, not the guys working the store. In store it was just a bit of a cluster fuck but went smooth enough. Hope they actually get the chips Monday morning like they hoped/claimed.
I was there @ 7:55AM and was ~#40 in line. When we got up to the front was told there were no 3800x or 3900x delivered (truck didn't show or some other excuse) and to reserve on online for instore pickup when they get them Monday (hopefully). I essentially got a paper IOU for a 3900x to show I...
Yeah I was better off not knowing that existed. I want my minute back, and the bloodlines of all those involved with that razed to the ground.
Every day we stray further from God.
