Not hot at all. The new tray prices are 955 = $175 and 965 = $195 as of 4 days ago. The 550 BE has been discontinued. All 3 of these will be superseded by new C3 stepping processors in about 2 weeks. Definitely would not recommend buying now at these prices. :o

You can get the GA-MA790XT-UD4P for $105 shipped from ZZF. Save money and avoid the rebate hassle at the same time. This mobo comes with an eSATA bracket in case you didn't realize. I consider the Gigabyte the better choice of the two, and coupled with the lower price, makes it a no brainer...

Read here. I don't think it's much of a shock to anyone that a better equipped and better cooled mobo manages to push an overclock slightly higher than the more budget offering. That's the same situation on any platform.

Get the MSI 4830. See the review here as to reasons why. It's the same as the OC version except you're not paying MSI an extra $10 to clock it 10Mhz higher :p

The MSI 4830 is a great card, I would certainly pick it over the Sapphire version. There's a great review of it here you may wish to read through if you haven't seen it already.

Nope. Board is $70 + $8 shipping. I/O shield is $10 + $5 shipping. That brings total up to $93. For that much money I can kick in another $10 or so and get a quality brand new mobo instead of some refurb/open box garbage :rolleyes:

You may wish to wait for the new Gigabyte GA-MA78GPM-UD2H mobo recently announced at CES. You can find the specs here. Basically it's an update of the popular GA-MA78GPM-DS2H with an Ultra Durable Copper PCB layer and SB750 southbridge. Supposed to be available 2nd week of February.

Wow great price. This seems far more impressive than the Sapphire 4830 that's been on sale recently. All solid caps, copper heatsinks, HDMI output, and a decently quiet fan. Maybe we'll see a promo code for free shipping pop up to sweeten the deal :)
