Doesn't matter how it "looks". You're either crushing blacks (badly in your case) or you're not. Use the link in post #4070 and adjust the set until you see all the squares. If you can't see ALL of the squares in both the black AND white tests, you're missing a tremendous amount of detail...

Same, it's stopped defaulting to "Auto" for me and has been sticking in "Normal" for the past few days, fyi.

Remember also that anything other than "Normal" Black Level typically crushes blacks badly depending on your other settings. Test it here: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php If you can't count all of the squares, you're missing significant black detail. Set it to Normal and leave it.

I made that decision three weeks ago, I wanted to 'want' the 9000 honestly, but the truth was it wasn't dramatically different in my tests versus the 7500. Small jump in other words. I did feel the 6700 to 7500 jump was worth it, but not the 7500 to 9000 jump. All of them are great truthfully.

Memory bandwidth isn't an issue currently, more than enough based on Titan X over (and under) clocking of ram MHz. Doesn't truly affect net fps, at all, even at 4k. I can clock mine down to 6000MHz or all the way to 8000MHz, and the net fps change from that entire range is perhaps 2fps total...

All I know is that on the Titan X you can overclock, or underclock, the memory by hundreds of MHz (if not a 1000MHz+) and it has near-zero effect on actual fps at 4k. Like less than 1-2fps net gain/loss. So clearly memory bandwidth isn't a bottleneck at existing levels. I'm not sure that...

Correct. Not many options out there, either the 40" Philips or the Samsing 2015 line. Both are excellent, with the Samsung being surprisingly better than expected.

Yep, and even with all that I chose the 48" 7500, by a wide wide margin when evaluating the two. And the 7500 actually costs significantly more than the Philips. It wasn't even close actually, surprisingly so. I must be crazy I guess. :D #bliss
