    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Well after dicking with just about every possible thing (drivers, re-seating the cards, cables, etc), I decided to re-seat the Connect One box connections and sure enough... The main connection wasn't loose at all prior, was seated firmly, no play. No idea why that worked or why it caused a...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Hmmm...added a second 980 Ti in SLI today but suddenly getting handshake issues with the 48JU7500 (PC boots, displays windows starting, but goes to a 'no cable connected' black screens at desktop). You can hear the audio and loadup of the desktop, works, but the signal is lost when it finishes...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Sure, good luck with that. Six months at least to get a working DP to HMDI 2.0 converter that accurately throws a 4:4:4 signal at 4k/60. No way. Hard enough to get it to work when it has the connector heheh, let alone going through some nonsense converter from a third party. But hey, to...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Doesn't matter how it "looks". You're either crushing blacks (badly in your case) or you're not. Use the link in post #4070 and adjust the set until you see all the squares. If you can't see ALL of the squares in both the black AND white tests, you're missing a tremendous amount of detail...

Same, it's stopped defaulting to "Auto" for me and has been sticking in "Normal" for the past few days, fyi.
  7. M

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Remember also that anything other than "Normal" Black Level typically crushes blacks badly depending on your other settings. Test it here: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php If you can't count all of the squares, you're missing significant black detail. Set it to Normal and leave it.

House of Cards: PCIe SSD Performance Roundup @ [H]

Any roundup of this sort without the Samsun SM951 leaves us hanging. Definitely understand how hard they are to get, but I would have made the editorial decision to wait until I had one as that's the big kahuna in this segment. Good writeup however, like these sorts of comparos.

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Wow, they can't even add HDMI 2.0 for the dual-gpu card due this fall. What a disaster.

lol....just.....lol. Now I have seen it all, thank you HardOCP forum for upping the bar. That is all. :D

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Definitely true. There is no doubt in anyone's mind that Nvidia wanted to price the 980Ti at $749-$799. No question, those rumors a few months back were absolutely true. But the chip that eventually became the Fury X was too strong, no way they could risk that high a price point, hence the...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Hilarious. It's like they try to screw things up on purpose, how else can you explain oversights this simple?? :D Too bad too, that Fury X card does look solid in the leaked benchmarks.
  13. M

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

No, but I do hate that thing. Can't seem to tuck it out of the way properly. What sort of noise is yours making?

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

If I were Su, I would determine who alone, or which group of people, made that decision, and terminate them. That's brutal, but that's the magnitude of this mistake (at the high end). It's nothing personal, we just can't have those sorts of mistakes when we're struggling to survive and are...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Same for me, thought I would "need" a second Titan X for sure, but after three months and half a dozen games played I haven't needed to add one yet. Part of that is the card OCing so well, it's stable at a 1500Mhz boost clock (modded bios and water cooling), which adds a lot of fps versus the...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

They're so stupid. 4k came out of their lips about a hundred times during their PR campaign for the Fury X, yet it ships with 4GB and HDMI 1.4. :p Just...wow.
  17. M

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

I made that decision three weeks ago, I wanted to 'want' the 9000 honestly, but the truth was it wasn't dramatically different in my tests versus the 7500. Small jump in other words. I did feel the 6700 to 7500 jump was worth it, but not the 7500 to 9000 jump. All of them are great truthfully.
  18. M

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

It really seems stupid, even for them, like hard to believe that's true. How could they make such a colossal mistake...NPD shows that 84% of all 4k gaming being done currently is via "television". Insane. Hope you're right, otherwise the Fury X is DOA for the 4k market.
  19. M

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Wow, no HDMI 2.0 on the Fury X is absolutely comical. What a cheap, short-sighted, F-up by AMD...yet again. 4GB and HDMI 1.4. Yeah that's the future baby, yeesh.

Wait till you've had it for a couple months, just gets better and better. Always a nice surprise to log on for the day and be awed by the size/rez.

Man, you girls worry if there ARE firmware updates and you worry if there AREN'T firmware updates...yeesh, enjoy the set and stop all the pearl-clutching.

AMD HBM High Bandwidth Memory Technology Unveiled @ [H]

Memory bandwidth isn't an issue currently, more than enough based on Titan X over (and under) clocking of ram MHz. Doesn't truly affect net fps, at all, even at 4k. I can clock mine down to 6000MHz or all the way to 8000MHz, and the net fps change from that entire range is perhaps 2fps total...

AMD HBM High Bandwidth Memory Technology Unveiled @ [H]

All I know is that on the Titan X you can overclock, or underclock, the memory by hundreds of MHz (if not a 1000MHz+) and it has near-zero effect on actual fps at 4k. Like less than 1-2fps net gain/loss. So clearly memory bandwidth isn't a bottleneck at existing levels. I'm not sure that...

    Vizio 43" 4k M43-C1

Correct. Not many options out there, either the 40" Philips or the Samsing 2015 line. Both are excellent, with the Samsung being surprisingly better than expected.

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Played most of the day today, had to take a break, phew. At 20.7ms it can't be beat. Not by you...your derranged buddy NCX...nor any of the other mouth-breathers in this thread. :D #GamingPerfection

Best thing I've read all day. Thank you gar818, you are definitely a true intellectual when it comes to these types of evaluations, as is common in this thread. (Back to 4k flawless Wolfenstein, laughing as I click away...) :D

All of which, every single line, were identical conclusions I came to over a month ago...and said so if you look back. Totally agree coolhand. Placed a few select people who were spreading absolute nonsense on ignore (Nite being one of them...nice guy but totally misguided), and never looked...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Not at all. SmartHub on/off, reboot tv on/off, whatever, it's all unnoticeable. Have spent at least 50+ hours gaming with ALL of the various firmware revisions over the past month, in BOTH game mode and PC mode...and all are indistinguishable from one another in-game. Tempest in a...

If only NCX were here...would be even better. :D
  32. M

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Perfect, nice job. That's exactly what all should aspire to...why the hell would we buy displays that offer massive desktop working area only to then scale the DPI up again to the point where there's no net space gain over a 32"? All should work towards 100%, even on the 40", to get the most...
  33. M

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Yes, fine, but none of that should be presented as you having some sort of advanced knowledge about which size is "right" for everyone else. That's the point.
  34. M

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

It's been ridiculous since the start of the thread. Worried little babies trying to impart their "ergonomic" OPINION as fact, has plagued us from the beginning. It's hilarious. Bottom line: Buy as big as possible, as bis as is comfortable. Displays shrink over time, badly.
  35. M

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

I'll add TARDIS to the ignore list, clearly a clown who either isn't sharp enough to grasp simple concepts or is just trolling. Either way..buh-bye with the rest. :D Meanwhile, back to Wolfenstein at 4k @ 60fps in an IMAX-level of immersion. Can't beat it.
  36. M

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

"Potential health problems", like so much of the uninformed nonsense in this thread, are individual and subjective. Hmmm, maybe I'll swap my 48" for the 55", you are motivating me as I have no problems whatsoever in any way shape or form despite spending 6+ hours a day for a month now with the...
  37. M

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Of course you're not crazy. Don't listen to the limp-necks in this thread when it comes to size, these little ladies get alllllllll up in a tizzy just from the thought of anything above 40"... I have the 48", and am now wondering if I should have gone larger. That's at a 30-inch...
  38. M

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Yep, and even with all that I chose the 48" 7500, by a wide wide margin when evaluating the two. And the 7500 actually costs significantly more than the Philips. It wasn't even close actually, surprisingly so. I must be crazy I guess. :D #bliss

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Good job CyJackX  Man, the past week we are getting some downright imbecilic posts about these displays, from fools claiming lag is "identical" between PC and Game mode, to a misunderstanding of WTF sharpness actually IS. Disheartening. If you don't know what the FK you're...
  40. M

So why did they skip 1440p and 2K to go right to 4K ?

Man up and buy a 4k display with appropriate GPU power. Then you won't care "why". ;)
