And I'M rude?! MY replies were rude?! Just because I didn't want to engage in what you clearly have demonstrated to be an effort to attack me just because I wanted XP on my laptop.
I figured you could do several things after I asked for clarification. My money was on you doubling down and...
As a result of your suggestion I targeted Probook and Elitebook laptops made in 2011, the same year as my laptop. I discovered that Realtek drivers weren't used that year in those business class laptops.
As I mentioned ealier, "I like your suggestion about an HP business class laptop using XP...
Before I bought the laptop used, I searched for drivers. HP didn't have any for XP, but other sites had an accumulation of drivers they claimed were for XP. Before I bought it, I thought it would be an easy matter of just downloading the accumulated drivers from one of those sites. They were...
Tried it. Along with many others. I just left it at 5.810 because it just happened to be the last I tried. Realtek even suggested that driver. I reinstalled it just to be sure. I was sure: doesn't work.
Can't change the IRQ. However, it doesn't indicate a conflict even though there are other devices which use the same IRQ. Those I temporarily uninstalled, to no avail.
To be clear, the diagnostic indicates some kind of issue with IRQ, but in device manager no such conflict is indicated.
What you're missing is what I've discovered...that site is a lie. I've been there (I think) and many other places. So many I lost track. ALL of the places that claim to have all the XP drivers on one page like that are lies. Only very few drivers are for XP and actually work. The rest...
I have a laptop from Dell made in 2012. It had Windows 7 on it, just as this has. I easily found all drivers for XP. This one was made in 2011. I found all drivers for it. The one I used for Realtek came from this page...
I've already figured out one workaround. I can just buy an inexpensive USB to ethernet adapter. As to a fix, I don't see how giving a reason for using XP on this laptop will help finding a fix. If you don't want to help or can't, that's fine. I fully expected this question, but as far as I'm...
I have a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion DM1-4010us entertainment laptop which came with 64 bit Windows 7. The Realtek adapter works fine in 7. I installed 32 bit Windows XP pro sp3 on a second partition to dual boot. I can't get a wired connection through the Realtek adapter in XP even though I...

you mentioned an External HDD Case (for 3.5" PATA hard drives) that you would send for the price of shipping. If you still have it, and it has the AC adapter, let me know. I'm in the 48603 zip code.
I'd like to not worry about it, but any anomaly I notice concerns me as either a problem or potential problem. What do you think is causing the power-on delay?
I just bought a new FSP400-60PN PSU for an old computer I'd like to keep running. I've discovered an anomaly with it that concerns me. I have an under-the-monitor (CRT) power pad. It's the old style pad with switches for each item (monitor, computer, etc.) and a master switch.
Normally after...
I'm wondering if someone knows where I can get one of these, preferably new. Either the FSP400-60PN or, even better, the FSP400-60PN(R) as I'm seeking a psu for an older computer setup. These are the older ATX 1.3 spec. They are built by the FSP group and according to spec here...
I'm seeking a Palm IIIxe in excellent condition. I only need the device itself, nothing else, not even batteries, though I don't mind getting extra stuff included if the price is right. I have two of these, one is going bad. Love them! I need a price, shipping included, to zip 48603...
I have a Gainward Geforce3 Ti/450 (actually I think it's a Ti200) TV 128mb "Golden Sample" AGP video card. The "Golden Sample" means that it is a specially made sample that is easily overclocked. The included software from Gainward even allows easy overclocking. Card is in excellent...
