    Nexus 6 speculation

Eagerly awaiting the unveiling on the 29th. I have been riding the Note 2 for a long time now. Was going go to last years Nexus 6 this summer but will wait to see what the new 6 really is before deciding between the two likely.

    Nexus M ( 2015 ) Smartphone

I got my eye out for the new N6, really hoping the rumors of 3500mah battery and Snapdragon 820 are true. Very much doubting the 820 though but we should know soon

Nice too see so many new guys in the club. True to word I haven't touched my BIOS in many weeks now. Just in a set it and forget it mode. I do think I'll make a token attempt to see how close I can get to 5Ghz when it gets a little colder outside. Throw that window open and see what happens. I...

Glad you're fully functional again prime. I too spent a couple weeks dialing in the OC to its current maxim. Once you get there its time to rest on your laurels; I now haven't been in my BIOS for weeks. Set it and forget it.

1366 x58 Xeon Enthusiast overclocks club

YMMV of course but I got my 5650 to run 24/7 @ 4.61Ghz so I'd venture a guess that as long as you're willing to supply the voltage you stand a very decent chance at 4.5-4.6. IME after 4.2 every 100Mhz is a definite step up in terms of votlage and getting things dialed in right. Its kinda why so...

    WTB: LGA 1366 CPU

I've got a i7 920 but honestly if you are going to spend any cash on a new 1366 the best move is to get a Xeon 5650 from ebay for like $70. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR1.TRC0.A0.H0.Xxeon+5650.TRS1&_nkw=xeon+5650&_sacat=0 It will run circles around your...

Go right to your max multiplier [22] and then set BCLK to 182. That might be all you need for a 20 second solution. You might need more than default voltage, kinda a lottery on how much voltage you need for 4Ghz. Beyond 4Ghz it gets much more involved as every 100Mhz necessitates tweaks to...

1366 x58 Xeon Enthusiast overclocks club

Its almost linear. I was getting a little over 10K with my quad core 920, my hexacore Xeon is over 15K in the aforementioned Firestrike Physics Test.

1366 x58 Xeon Enthusiast overclocks club

Yeah I ran a 920@4Ghz myself for years and the Xeon is definitely an upgrade. The degree of upgrade will vary game to game but its a boost the more cpu dependent you are. If you have a custom loop I'd cautiously say 4.5Ghz should be quite achievable for you. I know the 5650 is only $70 but there...

:) I like the sound of that. I mean I'm up at 4.6 myself but I am the limit on all his safe voltages i.e. vcore 1.45, PLL 1.88, QPI 1.35. I know you where running down at 4.2 for a long time but I'm not at all surprised to see you at 4.5. These chips are completely capable of mid 4Ghz speeds...

I've got the 840EVO myself and when I saw your numbers I too concluded you had rapid mode enabled. Still I'm super pleased with this drive. You can say that again. That's less than most of the 5660's are going for and less than all 5670's. 100% positive feedback with over 8K reviews. Plus is OBO so you could probably offer $120 to negate the shipping 25x multi across all cores wowza  Only need 200BCLK for 5Ghz.:p

Well gents as you can see from my sig there have been a few changes in my rig. I have abandoned the hope for getting my channel A ram back. Nothing I tried worked. Intel Xeon L5639 Hexa(6) Core LGA1366 Price:US $79.80 Used Ebay Seller

I'm not familiar with your board or its BIOS. My uncore defaults to 2x my ram multiplier. So my BCLK is 205, ram thus runs at 8x 1640 and Uncore is 3280 or 16X. Are you running 10X on your ram? Perhaps reducing that to 8x will trigger the uncore to reduce automatically. If you need better...

If you have a $150 or less budget and you don't mind used there is no better value right now than 79xx cards. Miners are dumping them for cheap. 7950's can be found less than $130 often on ebay. If you're fortunate you can find a 7970 under $150 as I did. Many/most of the 79xx series is dual...

Upgrade from 6970 to 770 - how substantial?

If you have a $300 budget you might look at the R9 290. If you are willing to get a card used for a couple months in a mining rig you can land one of those babies around $250 maybe less if you win an auction.

Without question the King of X58 mobos is the Asus Rampage 3. Even on ebay nowadays good luck finding one for less than $300. Otherwise there are several slightly lesser but decent mobos out their. I have the P6X58D-E myself and its pretty decent. Lotta guys have the sabertooth. But Gigabyte was...

    Ode to the Corsair 950TX.

OK good to know, for some reason I thought it was 3% which is why I was thinking 11.7 was the yellow flag zone on the 12V, sounds like I'm OK for now. Good luck with the PSU warranty thing.

    Ode to the Corsair 950TX.

Yikes now you got me worried. I have the same 11.877 for my 12V and 4.896 for my 5v, my 3.3 is 3.280 which is fine. Hmmm, if you're worried I guess I should be too. I've got the HX850 but was thinking of adding another 7970 or 280X here soon. I'd prefer not to have to get a new PSU. But I will...
