Just got this monitor today. I'm coming from a Dell U2410. I wanted to see if the 120hz was worth the downgrade to a VA panel. First impressions is that the stand is cheap, and the patches of crosshatching is obvious on white backgrounds. I'm going to play around with it some to decide if I want...
I'm trying to figure out possible card configurations for the MSI Big Bang. I'd like to know what configurations allow x16/x16 SLI. I've read the manual and it instructs installed cards into the first two slots, but this is what their compatability chart looks like...
Oh, interesting. My 4+4 plug only has latches on one side. Thanks for all the help man! I'll be able to cross-reference with my other cable and get it all back together :P
Since you have the the sleeved one, you can just follow the cables from one plug to the other. Top right pin on PSU end goes to X pin on mobo end, etc.
Awesome, but I have another favor to ask. Could you give me the order of the wires?
Here is what I'm looking for:

Numbers being where the wires come OUT of.
I have an almost identical cable, except the PSU end has an extra 4 empty slots. Maybe the ordering is the same...
I just started sleeving my AX850, got too excited, and pulled out all the wires in one go. Does anyone one of the pre-sleeved EPS cables that could tell me the wire ordering? (ex. All wires match clip-side on both ends)
I pulled all the wires out of my 8-pin EPS cable before realizing that I have no idea which way to put it back together. I found this: http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#eps8
Unfortunately, I'm sleeving an AX850, so I don't know where to put the wires on the PSU end :(...
Seems crazy that a cooler blowing perpendicular to the airflow in the rest of the case would perform so well. I love that you can get it in different colors though. Trying to go for an aesthetically pleasing setup makes me think twice about the highest rated coolers when the silver may stick out...
Seems like FT02 would be cheaper and less hassle than the x900 even if I could find one. Sounds like my Twin Frozr cards will be ok in vertical positions, and the windowed FT02 will barely fit 170mm tall heatsinks.
The x2000 is waaay too big. I'd go for the x900 since it has a window, and I'm not a huge fan of the sideways 5.25" drives since there are openings on both sides. Everything looked good until I saw the usb 3.0 pass-through cables again. There is always that adapter, but why do they keep doing...
Has anyone had any experience with comparing MSI Twin Frozr temps in the vertical orientation to the standard? I'm worried about the heat pipes since they would all be vertical.
Indeed. Its looking like the 650D with adapter is my best option. I love Lian Li, and I've gone over their cases again and again, but they know how to perfectly NOT put every feature into one case. Plus only a couple have the innards painted black.
Currently looking up the best way to get...
But there are so many... things on it...
I always loved the x2000 from Lian Li, and looking back it still looks amazing. I tried the x500 but immediately returned it because of how flimsy it was. It also seriously needed some anti-vibration mounts for the side panel.
That is very cool. I will have to suggest that to my father whose computer I built in a 650D. He was more than a little put-off by the cables routing out the back of his case. I'll admit, the 550D looks mighty fine. I was hoping for a window this time around because I'd like to sleeve my power...
I'm really digging corsair cases, and the 650d would be great, but the usb 3.0 pass-through is a deal breaker, and I really don't want the hot-swappable bay on top. Why can't Lian Li and Corsair just join forces? Could you imagine a Corsair case made of aluminum? Been eyeing the FT02, but it has...
I think in-ear is going to be the way to go. Due to local availability, I'm going to try the JF3's, if they don't work out I'll have to search a while longer.
Behind the head, wireless, and noise-cancelling. They're for use in a workshop environment where mobility and noise is an issue. The reason for them being behind-the-head is because a magnifying visor is used frequently.
Edit: Best I've been able to find so far...
I just got a new laptop and I'll need a pair of headphones to take with me. I've generally never used headphones before, but from my impressions here, the ATH AD700's are a safe bet. I prefer to hear people around me without pulling the headphones off an ear. I'll probably use them equally for...
I've been running with GTX275 SLI and it wasn't keeping up very well at 1920x1200. I went for two gtx560 ti 2gb cards and I'm happy with it. I know they'll certainly last me and I get minimum 50 fps on ultra and 4x AA. I'm glad I got the 2gb cards too, each get 1.5gb of used memory on my settings.
I was just looking into getting some new cards, and two gtx560's are cheaper and perform better than a gtx580, so why not? By the time you'd ever want to get another gtx580 they may be hard to find, that's how my "sli plans in the future" worked. I'm just going to do bang-for-my-buck sli from...
Correct me if I'm wrong: I was drawn to the D2X because of its noise canceling properties for mic in, newer audio processor, and eax emulation which the essence does not have.
I didn't realize Auzentech was such poor quality. It sounds like there's one choice I should go with, thanks guys.
Edit: Small clarification: It looks like the only difference between the D2X and the Essence STX is the line outs and a headphone amplifier. My local Fry's actually has the D2X for...
