As the title says. I currently run two 6950s in crossfire. Well I'm down to 1 now that the VRM blew on the second. So I have to replace the unit from eBay for approximately $200. OR Put the other 6970 in my HTPC and jump on a Geforce 680GTX instead. Thoughts?

I third the S27A950D! Had it for a week now and going from a Hanns G 28 to this is simply amazing. The color, contrast and clarity are great. I do have a slight bleed on the bottom right like everyone else, I think all the S27 series suffer this.

Do it.. Just be sure you can fit heatsinks on the vram, one looks extremely close on the 7970.

No, I cut the USB 2.0 cable out and un-soldered the housing. There are not enough lanes in the existing board to support 3.0. I simply used the existing board as a base, the USB 3.0 was still attached directly to the cable that came with the Asrock bracket.
