I don't have access to the beta, but from watching people stream it and words from friends who do have beta invites I am still quite excited about the game. Yes at the end of the day it is basically just clicking, but that could be said for D2 and D1 if you really wanted to break it down that way.

This is pretty much how I feel. The second one was just horribly buggy. Maybe they fixed it later on, but I had lost interest by then.

I blame it on the stupid rank up mechanics and state tracking more than a desire to make money. I think that was just a nice (for them, not players) side effect.

You should really give StarCraft 2 a shot, great game. I can't think of many other good recent ones. You would have to go back into classics. You might like the new Supreme Commander, but it is fairly different.

Hopefully the co-op is as good as it was in the previous games. Plan on picking it up on the way home from work.

I am waiting to see on this one. Hopefully a solid demo will be released at some point. I don't like the sound of having to mess with Origin just for one game and I also don't like this server browser idea. That said, if it is an awesome game and not all that annoying I will still pick it up...
