Thanks, guinea-pig, errr... I mean tony-kun. :)
So you can use all the features of the MyDisplay (after the initial hiccup)? I'm especially happy to hear about the panel rotation fix. I would like to use this feature when I'm writing essay's. Guess I'll have to download the new rev. and...
He most likely took ownership of a defective w2207 and obviously is very troubled about it. Or possibly had a mistuned model and was confounded with the adjustments. Either way, there are enough w2207 owners who are more than satisfied with their monitor that negates the position that the...
Just an FYI - I noticed that HP has revised their MyDisplay software. Its been out for a couple of weeks now (May 23, 2007). The new Rev. is 1.20 Rev. A

Only World of Warcraft (which exceeds all my expectations). While I am a bit of a 'gamer', other distractions like family, work, and school cut into my gaming time so much that I barely find any time to play WoW.
So unfortunately I can't comment on some of the graphic-intensive games out...
Unfortunately, no... my turner does not receive/decode HDTV. However I do have an HDTV tuner on my big screen TV - maybe if I get a wild hair sometime I'll try to hook it up to my w2207 and see what it looks like.
As for noise, I have no problems noise. I am on a cable feed which is pretty...
I'm the guy with the TV tuner. Sorry for the long delay in getting something posted on this. Here are a few pictures I took today with the tv tuner operating...
The first two are the TV tuner running in a window (which I prefer so I can be doing other stuff on the computer at the same...
The software is horrendous. Which is a shame because the monitor shines in every other aspect.
I had read about all the problems with the software before I purchased my monitor, but chose to install it anyway. The software 'hung up' constantly; I could not use it to properly change the...
Thanks Sylva.
Let me briefly clarify the video comment - I'm not knocking the monitor's ability to play movies (video) very well (it does), its just that I prefer to watch DVD's and such on my big-screen TV with surround-sound, and in the comfort of my sofa, feet kicked up, etc....
Marty
I havent posted in a while, but thought Id jump in and add a few comments.
Its not my intent to sell anyone a w2207, but I am still very confident that I made the best purchase when I bought mine. I base this on my needs for a monitor, which were (at the time I began shopping for a new...
At work I use a Dell UltraSharp 2007FP as my monitor, and of course at home I have the w2207. I can honestly say that when I leave work, go home and sit down at my computer at home I am not at all disappointed with the display of the w2207 when compared to the 8 bit 2007FP panel . In other...
I haven't taken the stand off, but HP's web site states: "it's compatible with any VESA standard mount"

I too am using a DVI cable from an earlier monitor (a Princeton 19" LCD) that came with the monitor. It works fine. I think someone can spend a hundred bucks on a cable that touts an impressive list of specifications but often a 10 dollar cable meets the requirements and anything beyond that...
Wild.. sorry for the delay in looking into this... its been very hectic around here lately.
Ok... I hate to say it but I'm not impressed with my initial review of the KWorld 1440 TV Box hooked up to the w2207. Max resolution is 1440 x 900. I tried 4:3 and 16:10 aspect ratios and although...
I'd have to say that the glossy screen was one of my biggest concerns when I purchased my w2207. I've got a window in my den that is directly behind me and I was worred that the glare from the glossy would be unbearible. However, it hasn't even been an issue at all. Yes, I can see the window...
Me too. I think I have this monitor set up looking pretty good at the moment and would like to compare my settings to one of those color fandangled contraptions (i.e. the Spyder)
Hey Wild -
I've got one of those very tuner boxes. Buy.com had a great deal one 'em a while back... $9.00 shipped (after rebates). I was going to use it on the Princeton monitor until it was deiced to use that monitor on another computer. Sometime over the next couple of days i'll hook it...
I replaced a 19" Princeton lcd that I've had for about 4 years now. It still works great - not a single stuck pixel. But I've been wanting a widescreen for a while now; I do alot of writing and have multiple documents open at the same time. I thought the widescreen would do the trick, and it...
Its about 6.5 inches. This is measured from the desk top to the bottom of the display panel, not the bottom of the monitor bezel. In other words, about 6.5 inches up from the desktop you will be looking at the toolbar in (and that wonderful START button) Windows.
Well, to be perfectly honest, the viewing angles on this monitor isn't perfect either but..
I position myself directly in front of the monitor about 2 feet away. I notice VERY little fading across the screen, and if I move my head up-down-side-to-side I do notice ever so slight changes in...
I would download the latest drivers from HP so you are sure you're getting the latest and greatest - quick link to the web page is:

I advise not to bother with the 'My...
Interesting problem. Speaking for myself, currently I am not having any problems with the HP drivers. My setup appears to be different from yours though - I'm using Vista Premium, Intel 6400, 3 meg ram. Now, when I first installed the drivers, I did so via the HP My Display installation. Let...
I know this won't specifically answer the 1:1 pixel question but I offer the following for some additional information.
The OSD offers a 'Custom Scaling' option that allows the following two choices:
Fill to Screen Image fills the entire screen and might look distorted or elongated...
Well, i can't speak of gaming abilities on this monitor since I don't consider myself a true gamer (i've got a WoW account and play that when i get the time). I'll leave that one to the hard-core gamers!
The monitor claims to support HDCP via the graphics card. In other words, there is no...
Picked my w2207 up today. I was happy to see that all pixels are firing fine (no dead or stuck one's) that I can tell. Color's and fonts were good out of the box, but after some adjustments they really look good. I haven't had much time to really put it through its paces yet, but initially i...
Cosco has this monitor at about the lowest price I've seen it at - $260.00 (rebated). I just went back thought the last 7 or 8 pages of this thread, and I still can't pull the trigger and buy one of these. I want to, but the unbelievable amount of DVI failures has me worried.
