The A-TW polarizer lottery could have been a single manufacturing mistake that was in a single batch. Ah, well, I think I am going to keep this screen. It doesn't really bother me.
I went through quite a bit of research (called Doublesight directly) to find out that the 263N has a polarizer but not the A-TW polarizer. I even asked the technician about the 265N, and the technician said that it will just be a standard panel with no A-TW polarizer.
Be careful when they...
Wow, newegg just sent me like 4 emails and said that they are going to contact the related department to further investigate the issue and even sent me a pre-paid shipping label. I'm not really sure if I want to return the screen even without the polarizer.
I also don't have the original box...
Right click on desktop -> properties -> settings -> advanced -> color management -> Add... -> select file -> Set As default.
(this was in Windows XP)
You may have to reboot your system afterwards for the profile to take effect.
What bothers me is the fact that newegg advertised it openly. Where did they get this information?
Okay, last post for a while. I've done all I can about this fiasco. We'll see what newegg says. :P
Okay, I just got off the phone with tech support. They stated that every 263N comes with the standard polarizer and not the A-TW polarizer. I asked if any had in the past, and they said no.
I asked if the 265-W will come with the A-TW polarizer. It will not. :[
I also asked to have this...
I haven't heard back from the technician yet. I expect he'll get back to me on this this evening or tomorrow. If all else fails, I will just call them up.
I sent a follow-up email to the tech support guy at Doublesight with links to b1k3r4ck's pictures. I am hopeful that I can get a less official answer and possibly a way to RMA this screen without the original box. :|
Ah, that's basically how mine looks. The bad news is that I threw away the monitor box, so I don't think I can return the screen now for a replacement.
...or can I?
weomro, I emailed the tech support, and they responded claiming that ALL the 263Ns have the polarizer. I'm quite confused about some people who claim that it does not.
I got mine, but I really can't tell if it has the polarizer or not, and I have read all the messages in this thread. :| No dead pixels, at least.
Other than that, I am extremely impressed with this screen.
