    CCNA - Tips/Tricks/Suggestions?

After I posted this thread, I did some slight research online. Leaning towards just going for the CCNA, since I have no work experience yet. I was considering buying one of those labs that are available on eBay, but I'm not sure if those are not necessary or a rip off. What would you all...

    Vz Fios Wiring Question

My FiOS ONT is mounted on the outside of the house near the electric meter, and the battery backup unit is mounted in the basement near where the cat6 cable comes into our home. I would just have them mount the ONT outside your house and then run the network cable to where ever you will have...

    CCNA - Tips/Tricks/Suggestions?

I'm looking to go for my CCNA certification this summer and possibly CCNP as well. I was looking to study on my own and then take the exam online or at a test center. I have an old Cisco 1841 router that I was given to me that still works, but I do not have any Cisco switches. Should I pickup...

    Subnets and Supernets

I believe I understand how subnets work just not entirely sure I have a grasp on supernets. Basically, if I divide these departments into subnets of various sizes, I just need to determine an IP address and subnet mask that can represent all of the subnets as one?

    Subnets and Supernets

So what would a supernet of various size subnets look like as an example?

    Subnets and Supernets

So all of the subnets need to be of the same size in a supernet, correct? So it would make the most sense to do all /25 subnets?

    Subnets and Supernets

Each department would need to be in its own subnet.. but appear as one supernet

    Subnets and Supernets

Have a question regarding supernets and subnets. Not quite sure I understand how these work, so I was hoping someone could clarify the concepts. Say I need to design a network to support around 300 devices with these devices being in multiple departments within a company. Since there are more...

    Can't upload from Google Chrome

Here's an example of the problem: Posting a new craigslist ad. There's a button that says "Add Images." When I click on that nothing happens. Possibly a minute or so later, I'll finally see the upload (OPEN) window show up. This is happening on any site in Google Chrome that allows me to...

    Can't upload from Google Chrome

I'm not really sure what the issue is but it must be something simple. When using Chrome if I click on a button on a webpage, such as Facebook nothing happens. It is not website specific either. This does not happen in Internet Explorer. Maybe after 2 minutes the upload window will finally...

Exploring HA options for a small network

Well if it's not a hyper-v issue, I don't see why they wouldnt be able to offer support. I plan on talking with a tech rep at some point.

48 port gigabit/8 port POE switch

May be out of your budget, but I've worked with HP A-5120 48 port POE switches. They're a L3 switch. Very nice switch with a good GUI and easy CLI http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/HP-A5120-48G-EI-Switch-with-2-Interface-Slots/2225091.aspx

Exploring HA options for a small network

I'm going to look into getting a single server to run a few VMs, as well as 4 hour on-site warranty. Thanks guys! Will be using Patterson Eaglesoft. Should I use sata or sas for this small of an office? Regardless, it will be a Raid 10 OBR. Should I do a VM just for DNS, DHCP, DC, AD...

Exploring HA options for a small network

Thanks! Question on when to send the "break" to the router. Should I do it as soon as I turn the router on or what? The tutorial you posted says that some start up commands will show, but none show on my terminal window. Thanks!!

How would I wipe the config? I read over the guide; however, I am having issues with the break command during the power cycle. Doesn't seem to be working, as after a while the log-in prompt comes up again.

Can anyone tell me how to do a factory reset on this router? I don't have access to the username and password that was set on the router. Thanks!
