    My 3007-HC is on order

I haven't seen the two side by side, but I am running another LCD next to it. The issue is that the HC can render about 20% more colors than the non HC can. If you are displaying an image with those colors in it, they will be less rich... even though they should still have the right tint and...

3007WFP-HC users, what video cards do you have? and a question about HD

I have the 3007-HC running from an Nvidia 7900GS.

Which monitor to get ? Dell 2707 or 3007 ?

I have the 3007-HC and love it. The default font size is kind of small, but I was already running my 20" display the same size anyways, so not a big change. What's funny is my wife tells everyone the reason I got the 30" is because I'm going blind... I keep telling her its big, but the text is...

    Computer Desks

I'm going to take this a little off on a tangent... What is the facination with open legged computer desks? In my office, I'm desperate for as much storage space as I can get, and having an open desk... as cool as they look... would kill all the drawer / file space that a traditional desk gives...

    My 3007-HC is on order

Umm, no, it is. I have my display on my desk, so I think I know whether it makes any noise or not. How would you credibly dispute that? What would be my motivation to lie about it? I'll restate what I said though, to rule out any ambiguity. My 3007-HC makes no noise that I can hear when I...

    2x 2407WFP vs. 3007WFP

There is no "right" answer to this questions since everyone's needs and preferences are different. I just went from 2 x 20" to a 30" + 20" and I couldn't be happier. I know that I like this better than I'd like 2 x 24" for several reasons. First, the S-IPS High Color panel of the 30" is great...

Got my Dell 3007WFP-HC display. How do I calibrate it?

I don't think the problem is your colorimeter, but it could be the software. I had to update my Spyder2 software to the latest to get it to work. The 3007 doesn't have any manual controls, however with compatible card, driver, and software you don't need them. With the Spyder2, I don't adjust...

    My 3007-HC is on order

I was told that this type of panel will display dead pixels as black, so I made the whole screen white and looked closely and found nothing. Is there a better "official" way to check for dead pixels? Also, mine is completely silent as far as I can tell.... with my head a couple inches from...

    3007WFP-HC 1350$

Its not the same S-IPS panel... in my opinion it is a lot better. The old LG panel was the same as the Mac 30" display. This is a newer LG panel used so far by Dell and HP on their latest 30" display. The old one was 72% of the NTSC color gamut, while the new one (HC) is 92%... which is huge...

Its been a while since I bought a LCD

While I kind of agree with what you are saying, it isn't that bad to have two different technologies. I just upgraded one of my displays to the gorgeous S-IPS Dell 3007-HC 30", and my second display is now a Samsung 204T 20", which is not S-IPS. I've calibrated them each and they look find...

Is 30" too big for a monitor?

This is the key. The shifts in shadow detail are dramatic with only the tilt or turn of the head. For photo work, this is really, really bad. Think about it. If you are trying to process an image and get the shadow detail exposed correctly, its near impossible with this shifting going on...

    My 3007-HC is on order

Sorry, I misread your post about single link. It needs dual link to get the native resolution, and I am not positive but I think it will scale to full screen if connected to single link... but obviously the text would be huge. I don't know this positively, but I thought I had read it before.

    My 3007-HC is on order

The box is 33" x 11" x 27" The display doesn't have a scaler... 2 resolutions only. My nVidia card scales to anything I throw at it though, so its not a problem for PC use if your card scales.

    Benefits of Dual Monitors

That setup is pretty kickin. I don't think I'd like the second 30" up top though, as it would be way to high for my liking. I have the 30 and one 20 right now... a second 20 is about as much as I could ever imagine wanting. Thats whats great about technology now... you can configure this...

    Benefits of Dual Monitors

I had a very similar setup... except for the back scratcher... Dell 3007HC 30" and Samy 204T 20" turned sideways. I also have a Thinkpad T60 that I use for my day job and that was always awkwardly sitting around my desk... I see you have the same issue of finding just where to stick it. Well...

    Dual Monitor Quirks

Did you read what I wrote? I don't believe I have the Intel chipset either, but I have the exact same end result. My point, and the explanation at the Intel site, would indicate that this is probably normal behavior. I think you are on a quest to solve something that isn't a problem.

    Just got a Samsung 305T

So let me get this straight. You bought a very expensive display that is apparantly hard to get, and it had a problem from the factory. Samsung says they've not heard of the problem before and authorized a DOA replacement. And now instead, you are going to buy a used one off someone on Ebay...

Dual monitors... advantages / setbacks / help... ??

This is all done in the driver... it is pretty self explanatory if you go into the driver and look at the configuration options. The Nvidia driver will let you configure it a variety of ways. I think the most common is to have it run the two monitors separately at their own resolutions, but...

    Just got a Samsung 305T

They don't all do it. My Dell 3007-HC is silent as far as I can tell. I haven't gotten out any instruments to measure it, but with my head about 1 inch from the display, I don't hear any noise at all when I turn it off and on. From the reports I read of this, in many cases its because the...

Dell 2007WFP Troubles - Need some pro help

Sounds like either your cable is loose, or you have a problem in the display or card that manifests itself after its been running for a period of time. I'd try checking the cables.... then try using the display on a different computer to see if you get a hit.

    Dual Monitor Quirks

This is normal behavior. As to "why", I can't tell you, but I found reference to the following on Intel's site. I don't believe this chipset is on my motherboard, but I have the exact same behavior, so it must be more universal. Botton line is I wouldn't worry about it unless you are just...

3007-HC - Thin blue line at bottom of display

OK, I feel kind of stupid on this one. I have the task bar collapsed and it is blue... that is the taskbar I'm seeing as the blue line. So now the question... can I change the color of the taskbar to black, without changing all my window borders to black. I am pretty sure the answer is no. I...

Is 30" too big for a monitor?

I wasn't really asking for "data" in the classic sense, so maybe I mispoke. I was really meaning that I think you are the only person I've seen reporting that the S-IPS monitors are not the best for images, because of this black problem. The shadow detail shifting around on my non S-IPS monitor...

Is 30" too big for a monitor?

Not sure what S-IPS panel you are referring to, but the black on my Dell 3007HC is excellent. I am a professional photographer and spend most of my time online on photography forums. I've not heard too many people put S-IPS down for image work. Do you have any data you can refer to that says...

3007-HC - Thin blue line at bottom of display

I have have a solid black background on my XP display at present, and my new 3007 has a thin blue horizontal line that runs the full width of the display, just above the lower bezel. Is this a problem, or something that I need to somehow adjust out of there. I have calibrated the display with...

    Questions regarding the Dell 3007...

This tells you what the Nvidia cards can do... http://www.nvidia.com/page/technology_extreme_hd_gpu.html Your card could actually drive dual 3007 displays. The only game I play a lot is Company of Heroes, and contrary to the other reply about this, I found that it runs beautifully at native...

    30" Club

What is an OSD? So you didn't use a colorimeter like a Spyder2 to calibrate? Windows XP doesn't natively handle two monitors profiled very well, if at all. You have to download their Control Panel Color applet (WinColor) in order to be able to direct a separate profile to each monitor. That...

    30 inch LCD Monitor Res?

The only game I play is Company of Heroes, which isn't exactly a lightweight game... and not the absolute most demanding either. The Dell 30" looks gorgeous with Company of Heroes at full resolution, and my video card is one of the slowest Nvidias that will drive it. I haven't heard of any...

Which is why I think you weren't using the right profile for the monitor. I had that happen one time and it threw things way out of whack. Is 30" too big for a monitor?

HEY... you guys are going way off the topic. The guy simply asked if the 30" was better than a 22" and most of the dialog has been a debate on about different panel technologies. I just got a 30" Dell and love it. My progression has been the following... and it took me about a year to...

Im going to buy a 30 inch LCD this week, the question is which one.

Yep, that alone is reason enough for me to not buy anything from HP. You got to love a company that advertises the same thing at two prices. IF anyone buys at the higher price and ever figures it out they will be HIGHLY ticked off. At least with Dell you have to haggle a little bit, and/or...

    My 3007-HC is on order

Does it have any problems? I don't think I'd return a display unless it had a problem. I've never heard of an A02, and the concensus I thought was that there really wasn't an A03. I don't know what revision mine is... didn't look.. but its a beautiful display. Open it up and start enjoying it.

    30 inch LCD Monitor Res?

I think it depends on the display as to whether they can run at other resolutions. I think the Dell runs at max resolution, or it has one lower one and I don't recall what that is. It doesn't autoscale... however my Nvidia card has produced other resolutions on it so I guess the card is doing...
