    3.2TB SSD for $240

In my case, I'm not sure it's power as much as the board itself. It can run a stronger pcie-12v-less videocard in the x16 slot without a problem, but that slot doesn't work consistently with the 6.4TB card. Runs fine in the furthest "x4" slot. This system has two new 920W 1U power supplies. I...

    3.2TB SSD for $240

Tested this, with the 6.4TB in the known working pcie slot. Both cards do load fine. Installed Fusion_ioMemory_VSL_3.2.15.1699_x64.exe, then installed Fusion_ioMemory_VSL_4.3.7.1205_x64_storport.exe. Both appeared immediately after each installer completed.

    3.2TB SSD for $240

Wow, so it IS possible? I thought it should be, but others said otherwise. When I tried adding the 6.4TB to my system, its software wouldn't install. I removed the 3.2TB and its software, which worked. Trying to add the 3.2TB back in later didn't work. I'll need to give it another shot it seems!

    3.2TB SSD for $240

Even without the driver loaded, your device manager should look like the below with the 3.2TB ioScale being a generic mass storage device: The drivers turn this into a storage drive that you can partition. If you don't have the generic Mass Storage Controller driver warning, either the...

    3.2TB SSD for $240

Very likely it isn't showing up in the device manager or anything - just not appearing in Windows. This is what I was seeing on my 6.4TB unit in 2 of my 3 slots. There's some system compatibility issues with these for sure, and it's possible he just got a dud (needs to test in a second system)...

    3.2TB SSD for $240

Yep, I have one of those here and it worked flawlessly in this same machine. Windows 10 in the same GIgabyte Z390 Auros Pro. I'm actually surprised by my compatibility issue in the same system with the 6.4TB ioMemory card. ZERO issues here with the 3.2TB ioScale. I haven't seen my ioMemory...

    3.2TB SSD for $240

Still try a different slot, since only one of mine are consistently working with the ioMemory. I had no problems in any of my board's slots with the ioScale though. And make sure you haven't tried to run two different driver installers - these devices don't like conflicting drivers, notably a...

    3.2TB SSD for $240

If you get to the point where fio-status is seeing the drive, it is also available for use in Windows. The rest of the steps are just to get everything up to date. Remove the drivers, reboot, install Fusion_ioMemory_VSL_3.2.15.1699_x64.exe, reboot. If it still isn't visible, try a different...

    3.2TB SSD for $240

You bought the 3.2TB version, correct? The drivers are different for the ioScale vs ioMemory, and you must remove the driver for the other model if you swap, or installed the wrong one. See my troubleshooting above. You could also try every pcie port in your system.

    3.2TB SSD for $240

I'm also having issues getting the 6.4TB one to work on Windows 10. I removed the drivers for the ioScale, rebooted, installed Fusion_ioMemory_VSL_4.3.7.1205_x64_storport.exe, rebooted, nothing there. If I hard poweroff the system, I get an ioMemory consistency check on bootup, so the system...

They're still accepting $400 offers on the 6.4TB in this newer listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/SanDisk-6400GB-ioMemory-SX300-6400GB-PCIE-SSD-SDFACCMOS-6T40-SF1/124092464848 Got mine accepted this morning. After briefly using the 3.2TB, I think the 6.4 is a better size for my needs. Great...

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition Review @ [H]

Why do so many people post this? No, the 1080 is a replacement for a 980Ti, in performance and price. The 780 replaced the 680. The 780Ti replaced the 780. The 980 replaced the 780Ti. And on, and on. Each release we saw the cards getting roughly 25% faster. The 1080 has roughly the same average...

Not sure what you mean. Curve makes the experience more immersive, but because the corners and sides of the screen are closer to you, they also start to enter vision of only one eye sooner than a flat screen, when sitting at similar, nearer-distances. This will depend on the person though - how...

Of course - any processing of signals will need time to complete (lag). Motion interpolation is one of the heaviest processing jobs it can do, and adds a good amount of delay before displaying the final image. The tv must look a frame ahead before it can generate a new frame and insert it, so...

Yeah, not sure. I believe Auto Motion Plus (AMP) has to do with using the LED backlight to improve the quality of the higher refresh rate. I know AMP is an option, but not sure if it's what controls CMR. It may enable CMR also? Edit: Found this discussion...

I'm nearing the end of final setup (before we move into a new house). Still plan on wall-mounting to get my eyes back up more to the top part of the screen, instead of the center, and pull it back toward the wall a little bit. Riser was built for more desk storage, but it may not be needed since...

Sarcasm? Witcher 3 visuals are just lacking all around, no matter the display settings or type. I haven't seen any good visual improvements in games in many years - the Witcher series isn't the only one. Adding a couple things such as ambient occlusion doesn't do anything but modify the lighting...

The 65JU7500 is $2800 at full retail price here in the United States, but I wouldn't be surprised to see people getting them for under $2500. A bit large for a desktop monitor, but a nice screen size for general tv use, where you could actually use the 120Hz frame-injection feature. If you're...

Not being aggressive, just stating facts in as few words as possible so as to not add more confusion to the thread. It's kind of late to ask these questions after already spending $2k on a screen (otherwise needing to load back up and haul back to the store). Your post was unclear on exactly...

It can't take a 120Hz signal - it can only interpolate and insert frames in between other frames, by adding lag and comparing one frame to the next, before inserting another third frame in between the two that it received from the signal. This is the way 120fps tvs have worked since they were...

You aren't - you're likely paying for something with much higher production numbers/economies of scale, letting you get MORE for your money than you would otherwise. It's not any different really - I believe Bermuda is its code name, just like Maxwell, Fermi, Ivy Bridge, Bulldozer, etc are all code names. The final products are GTX 980, GTX 580, i7 4770k, AMD FX BLAH BLAH, and Fury. The code name matters for discussion, the product name on release doesn't...

"Fury" wasn't even public knowledge at that time. Everyone calling the next card a 390X is just assuming that would be its name, when they are actually discussing Bermuda. Same way I could assume the next nVidia card could be called something like the GTX 1080Ti OMG edition. 390X is simply...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Why does it matter? It's just a name. Just think of the 390x as the new 280x, and the Fury as the new 290x...one is a rebadge, one is a new product. Same market options, just different naming. It doesn't change anything - there is a new card, and there is a re-badged previous-gen card with a...

Why would they? Some added DisplayPort before HDMI 2.0 was ready, but it will likely disappear from tvs once again. Other than computers, what AV equipment includes DisplayPort? HDMI 2.0 should be on every new computer soon. Can't hang onto the old things forever! Everyone will be wanting USB...

I'd like to have more time inside a display, but don't want to tear mine back down again right now. The flickering/signal failure at 2Khz wasn't much more frequent than at 480Hz. I'm curious if the driver is really sensitive to the input signal, and how it would behave if I gave it 3.2V instead...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Worth it? Not as worth it as 2KHz PWM, but I can use brightness level 5 (good setting for a dark room) without any noticeable flickering. I think level 8 gives the best whites in a dark room, and level 12 is good for sunlit rooms, or a few light bulbs. I think one PWM gets over ~240Hz, it starts...

Well I have good new, and bad news. Good: The code at http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/SmoothBacklight:_a_Hardware_Mod_for_Improving_Backlight_PWM_Frequency_of_Your_TV works/runs successfully at 2.2KHz without making any changes. There are some differences with the new tvs though - the circuit...

Last night I noticed my 50" "shrinking" - it's not overly big, but also not small. The 40" seemed small after a day. I think the 48-50" size is perfect. My desk is 30" deep, using multiple pieces of http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50106773/ and...

Ah yeah, my brain wasn't all there when I was posting at work today - I haven't touched pwm in a couple years. My project car has some 5W LEDs for tail lights, being dimmed for running lamp mode by pwm in a circuit built a couple years back. Works great and throws out over 2000 lumens of red...

Backlight level 20 PWM is imperceptible. It's when you get down to lower duty cycles that it becomes an issue. I have have some solid PWM numbers this weekend. The data needs to be gathered in order to modify the PWM rate. I've found the lowest I can use this screen with 120Hz PWM for any...

Wall mount? Just getting rid of the stand is worth 4-5" if you assume a 1" thick wall mount, and you can move the desk as far away as you want. 36" from the screen is close to perfect, 30" for games.

50JU6500 working great for the limited amount of time I had used it this weekend. The 40" "shrunk" for me within a week of using it. The 50" continues to seem just right, from about 2.5ft back. With the screen on stand sitting on my desk, my eyes are level to about 1" below the top edge of the...

Gave up waiting to see if BestBuy would get the 48" curved model in stock (didn't appear to). I had a hefty gift card to use at BB. Picked up a 50JU6500 for $803 and I like it. Works better further back than the 40" (5+ feet away), but also not TOO big wall-mounted at sitting at the desk...

You are making up your own definitions of a "monitor". It's simply a device that allows you to MONITOR/observe the operation of a machine. Even the LCD in my keyboard is a monitor. A television is a monitor. Just because you think a monitor means private, it doesn't make it so. Does installing a...

I think it's a bigger issue than some may believe. Most people do not care about the details, or know how things work, but they may unexpectedly get tired without knowing the cause(s). Worse yet, in 100 years we may find that PWM was harmful to us - after all, our bodies are only used to...

Then why did you go larger than 15"? Monitors are only displays without tuners built-in - nothing more than that. Limitations of technology are the only reason we started with small screens. There's no reason to think a PC monitor needs to only be viewed by one person, which can be done up...

Agreed - I had great contrast using 0-255. Some youtube videos are only uploaded with 16-255 so I compensate for those via the nVidia Control Panel to make them look better, but I see the full range of colors in any source that is done right. I've found that many sources look too bright when...

Previous year models had pwm controlled by software, which could be updated with firmware. The other hardware may not take kindly to a higher frequency in the long run though.
