hi all. i'm helping my family find a great LCD TV as a christmas gift. we have decided to go with the samsung LN-T5271F from amazon.com because they currently have free white-glove shipping with samsung TVs. i'm also looking at the 5 year RepairMaster warranty. from what i've seen around here...
that's the most idiotic thing i've ever heard on these boards.
color reproduction? VA wins.
viewing angles? VA STILL wins.
not to mention that no manufacturer is going to make a monitor with a TN panel built well enough to not have any backlight bleed.
i'll take my dell gay-VA panel over...
you must be doing something wrong then. i can easily support 1920x1080 through vga AND dvi. you have to select 1:1 in the service menu to get 1920x1080 through vga. that will not work with dvi though. my video card drivers are able to force 1:1 and i can achieve 1920x1080 through dvi simply by...
the 8800 will be able to handle 1920x1200 gaming. a second 8800 will only help in terms of upgrading. get yourself a 24"...a 20-22" will leave you wanting more. i know it did for me. i now have a 2407 and it's amazing.
i had a bad experience with a viewsonic. the VX2035WM showed insane flickering at native resolution with any ATI card hooked up to it. at first i thought it was ATI's drivers, but thinking back, it had to be the damn monitor. the card worked perfectly in my friend's computer and another friend...
i have it and although i dont have another 24"er to compare it to, this thing is frigging amazing for gaming. i don't notice any ghosting at all, input lag again not noticeable. i absolutely love the resolution for the size. the pixel pitch is pretty good. gaming is insane on this thing. i just...
before you do anything, see if you can't go in a store and maybe ask an associate to run a complex demonstration on one or a few of the LCD's and see if it doesnt have the sickening effects
depends on the game i think. i'm running all kinds of different resolutions for games like bf2 that wont natively support 1920x1200...i'm lazy about getting the fix
at $569 i can assure you that theyre not unloading junk from the warehouse. i bought mine last week, and i got the latest revision A04 and a May 2007 manufacture. this monitor is fantastic for me. i game a lot (COH, battlefield series, CnC3, etc) and i do not notice any ghosting. there is almost...
i contemplated this same choice myself actually...i would have had to borrow a good $300 to help pay for the westy. i'm not in my new dorm room yet and i can't be guaranteed that i'll have the same setup for the 08-09 year. my desk would have shelves above it so the westy wouldnt fit unless i...
if it's a dead pixel then youre SOL. if it's stuck then you have some options. this page has helped me fix all the stuck pixels that used to pop up on my previous viewsonic

good luck
they don't make me, i chose to have it here. otherwise it's in my basement with the thick carpet and the cat living quarters...saves me from cleaning out the inside of my case every week. my brother has taken over my room while i've been at school so i can't go there...little punk
when i said the same S-PVA panel i only meant that it has an S-PVA, whose price does not warrant that of S-IPS imo. many people on here have said that the 2707's color gamut was the same as the 2407. i didn't have time this morning to comb the forums to be absolutely sure
no idea but what we pay for in america is absurd to begin with...the panel is essentially a carbon copy of the 2407 but with 50cd/m2 less brightness, a .303 pixel pitch, and of course 3 more inches
same S-PVA panel, same color gamut, same native resolution, same inputs even!
i do not see...
it's really easy...I THINK some video card drivers automatically rotate the screen when the monitor is in vertical positioning...otherwise there is a simple setting in the driver utility to rotate the display when you rotate the monitor
what a crock of shit...i can't justify selling my new monitor and using that money AND everything else left in my bank account to pay for this before it goes out of stock forever...fucking hell...why couldnt they wait 3 more months
with 8 LCDs...you damn well better beat all but a handful of people in the frigging world haha
side note: global warming, at its current pace, could actually trigger an ice age through a complicated process of negative feedback and positive feedback. essentially, the warming of the earth...
