    Planar PX2611W 26"

That is pretty strange. I've never used the PX2611W, but my primary monitors are an S-IPS and a P-MVA (I think it's P-MVA, anyway; it's a VX2025wm, it's the main monitor I use at work), and I've not seen such an effect myself... Have you compared with ClearType off? I've heard subpixel...

Viewsonic vx2835 28" Panel Review lawl

Personally, I kind of like these threads. I feel they add character to the forum. If he's a troll, he's something few trolls are: good, and enjoyable. ???

Is Planar Systems Planar PX2411W S-IPS?

Scyles is good at this-- I emailed Planar asking what it was, and they told me it was an MVA. Specifically I think they said "S-MVA", which struck me as an odd thing to say, but I guess it doesn't really matter too much what they want to call it.

    Planar PX2611W 26"

Quick question for you, ToastyX.. sorry if you answered it in your post, I read through it a few times but didn't see it. If you already answered it, feel free to insult my reading skills :( Anyway: did you calibrate the PX2611W or the 2690 with any kind of hardware solution (colorimeter)? I...

    Planar PX2611W 26"

Sounds like a pretty good matte finish. That's good news to me. You say the vertical viewing angles are a bit odd.. do you mean that if you twist the monitor up some, the screen's colors are uniform, or that you just twist it up to view the bottom evenly and have to twist it back down for the...

    Planar PX2611W 26"

No rush. Work before play, right? ... granted, I'm posting from work, but I also have nothing to do today.

You can upload them to www.imageshack.us for free, no account, no nothing. I'd offer webspace or something, but I don't have any I can use either :(

    Planar PX2611W 26"

Sounds pretty awesome. Now you know what everyone means when they say S-IPS panels are known for their color quality. This unit is really looking like a hell of a bargain for what it is, and 1920x1200 would be a great res for me (800x600 and 1600x1200 are both pseudo-native, which'd be nice...

If you game and buy anything but a TN panel you will get owned by noobs

Monitors that use TN panels and feature overdrive are not, necessarily, TN+overdrive unless you use them that way. Overdrive features are usually enabled via the OSD. Try it out on your 226BW and you will likely notice hideous input lag, along with a host of other quality issues (ime, bad...

If you game and buy anything but a TN panel you will get owned by noobs

As I understand it, "overdrive" TN panels are actually known for some of the worst input lag out there, right up there with S-PVAs. This is mainly an issue of panel electronics, really. This is why some of the wiser folks in this thread have commented on how scaling and other factors can really...

    Planar PX2611W 26"

Newbie bump. I'm really interested in this monitor; I've been looking for a nice big S-IPS to replace my 19" for some time now, and I was almost ready to suck it up and look at the NEC (or maybe go PVA; admittedly there are worse fates, but I'm used to IPS panels and I like them best) when I saw...
