1. Liquid cool get you much better temps compare to air results in better OC headroom, but often AIO solutions are sometimes lacking in the noise to temp department.
2. I would rather installing myself with a replaceable fan to reduce noise output.
Thank you OP! I picked up a R7000 from Target just an hour ago for 169.99, swung by my near by Walmart at Morgan Hill, CA and snagged the last one up for 89.99 as soon as I saw your post! You just saved me $80 bucks, cheers!
Usually run Antec PSUs because it's available at my local Fry's and just general wide availability for the brand. Good cost/performance ratio for the most part.
The radiator I installed on top is 140x2 so it fits fine, in your case, you can either search for an adapter or Lian-li sells an extra top that's 120x3 I believe, but then you'll be able to fit the 120x2 on there. Hope that helps.
Yes, 1st watercooling rig, obviously a lot of research was done before pulling the trigger, and also LOTS of trials and errors along the building process as well.
The absolute worst part is trying to install the parts that you thought would fit or work for sure, but ended up doesn't, and...
As far as I know, there is no direct way to mount the fans in front without either the hard-drive cages or some sort of 3rd party bracket specialized for mounting fans on the 5.25 brackets.
The mounting was definitely a challenge, but I figured out a way to fit the triple rad in front without drilling or modifying the case in any way. There are 6x Scythe GT fans in push/pull on the triple rad.
OMG I can't believe this, I missed myself being on the front page ?!?!? Thanks guys for all the praises! If there are any questions about the build I'll try my best to answer them! Thanks again!
P.S. And of course, huge thanks to Steve for posting the rig on the front page!
P.P.S. Btw, I'm a...
The front 120x3 I used a set of (UN)Design Rad Bracket they're available here for $15.50 before tax/ship.
The screws sizes and lengths are the real troublesome part, I ended up repurchasing a bunch of extra sizes and lengths of screws simply because the ones i got before didn't fit :(. It...
low fan noise and low heat output is definitely top priority, it kind of goes hand in hand in efficiency, since efficient units tend to output a lot less heat.
I'm sure Galaxy products as every bit as good as EVGA or XFX branded cards, I just wish you guys offered a lifetime warranty, or even a 5 to 10 year one. I'm sure that will attract a lot more customers given your competitive pricing.
Hey hows going, sorry for the late reply.
1. two rads for cooling for sure, 930 OC to 4.2 is pretty hot, not to mention the 2x 480. it's one effective heater for sure, my tiny computer room is not build to handle this kind of heat lol.
2. Danger Den stuff is... great performance imo, just...
:) THANKS! I really appreciate it.
I think the natural coloring in the waterblocks and white led lights really comes out well, definitely a lot better than I expected.
Hey man, thanks for the compliments :)
The main water cooling components here and approximate cost are as follows:
-Intel Core i7 930 w/ EK Supreme High-Flow All-Copper Nickel plated WB [$89.95]
-Asus Rampage III Extreme w/ EK RIIIE WB [$139.95]
-2X EVGA GTX480 in SLI w/ EK FC480...
Thanks! BTW, here's a little something interesting i found, in Mafia 2 Physx on High. GTX480 SLI gets ~53fps avg but with 1 GTX480 dedicated to Physx and the other for rendering (SLI off), you get ~64fps avg.
As mentioned in a previous post, it's more of an aesthetic choice. I've thought about painting it all black, but there are already tons of all black case builds.
Thanks =) . Yeah, it probably will be fine with a 5/8 OD considering like you said, it does not want to bottom out with 3/4 OD unless you use a lot of force.
They're 1/2 3/4 BP compression fittings with PrimoChill PrimoFlex PRO LRT 1/2 3/4 tubes... if you use a slightly smaller OD tube on the compression fitting, it will spring a leak for sure.
