agreed, possibly the nicest looking mini-ITX Z87, it should look pretty tidy inside an M1!
I was only sent a link, no specs. I think this is just the next level of teaser before the full details are revealed. Reasonable guess at Killer NIC on the mobo, single 8 pin power on the graphics card...
MSI started teasing their Z87I Gaming, as well as a new compact graphics card. At this point we can only speculate on the GPU, but GTX 760 would be the obvious (and probably disappointing) choice, but perhaps it will be something higher spec? Place your bets...
Some good indication from Necere's own testing of the prototype: http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1039866874&postcount=2686
It's not really jaw dropping (win/lose on the gpu/vrms) and you have to remove the shroud (not such a big deal I guess.) I think it shows how a big heatsink alone is...
I believe the current Asus implementation of M.2 is low bandwidth, limited to PCIe 2.0 x1 or SATA 6GB/s (see Asus own specifications.) No sign of anything faster to be available very soon, maybe some boards will appear with the IvyBridge refresh, or Broadwell? I believe Z97/H97 will support SATA...
For sure it doesn't look like a case for heavy overclocking and multi GPU. The intake at the front is 140mm, and at least it's quite unobstructed due to the big opening (the opening is in that big rectangle in the bottom front, which also has the 5.25" optical bay behind it)
If you can put up...
On the subject of coolers, Thermalright have done some updates to make their coolers prettier: Revised TRUE Spirit 90M, 120M and Macho 120 N.B. Macho120 is 150mm tall, True120 is 145mm
However, the 125mm tall TRUE Spirit 90M Rev.A (Thermalright website) could be interesting for anyone willing...
the new Nofan is 155mm diameter, I'm pretty sure it will foul the first slot on most µATX boards, unless some very short PCIe x1 card is used. For mini-ITX it will need a miraculously perfect CPU socket placement?!
looks like a couple of new MSI should be announced soon: MSI Z87I Gaming AC and MSI H87I AC
nothing official anywhere that I can see but they're listed on some stores in the EU e.g. komplett.se No details either but I think we can safely guess AC refers to the wireless spec and the Gaming will...
It would need components specified to withstand higher heat loads anyway, for the reasons outline earlier by prava i.e. heat output will be quite similar at a given load regardless of the maximum the PSU can deliver.
I think that the innovation that's really desirable is in efficiency at very...
Lag won't be a bother for movie playback. It's a problem for gamers and anywhere else action needs an instant repsone and can't easily be anticipated e.g. broadcasters tracking cameras in say F1 or tennis. Also for action photographers, their LCDs and viewfinders on digital cameras have the same...
In Win 904
In Win have been making some really interesting cases in the last few years, a lot of them have been bloody expensive. The 904 however looks within reach for everybody :) Retailers in EU have listed it for pre order, delivery expect in early-mid December. 180 or £150 inc. tax, so...
I don't know if they're any good, but I'll post anyway in case it's useful for someone:
Prolimatech Ultra Sleek Vortex 12 (120mm × 15mm fans)
went on sale in Europe, Caseking saying stock expected 14th November :)
that's excellent, perhaps the declarations by w360 & Taiwan post office were complete enough for the German authority to consider that the import clearance was already done? anyway it seems like it's just the UK postal service that doesn't respect international law about not making a profit from...
the reported spec is 155mm diameter? mini-ITX boards are 170mmx170mm, so maybe if the cpu socket is placed exactly right?
Looks like a great product though, perfect for S, T series and maybe non-OC's Ivy.
It matters not one jot what the actual numbers are between sites, as long as the testing method is consistent within a like for like review. There is no unit of decibel in the way you have metres or kilograms which are fixed. It's a only ratio, when you look at the numbers go back to the...
you could try the Noctua NF-A9x14 PWM 92mm if you're willing to mount it on the outside of the PSU case (WiSK noted in the other thread there is only space inside for 82mm diameter.) I guess any 80mm x 25mm might also work mounted to the outside of the PSU housing.
after Prad tested the CG246 I thought the lag might be finally tolerable on these ColorEdge displays, but it turned out that the CX was noticeably slower. Amongst the EV series 27" versions also tested quite a bit slower than 24" although the slightly older CG275W was OKish for lag similar to...
The press release in Japanese: http://www.eizo.co.jp/press/archive/2013/NR13_025.html
Eizo.co.jp product pages:CG277 & CX271
CX271 is available in three versions targeted at prepress, professional photo, and video production.
I agree with this, if it's real I would expect it to arrive will the sole purpose of extracting maximum $ until the Maxwell gen arrives. The one (very) faint hope is that it might be priced at more competitive point and apply price pressure down the range and keep a little bit of competition...
are the GHz edition 780s supposed to be the ones priced equal, with equal performance to R290X? with Ti coming in at a premium for the small performance advantage?
price of Titan doesn't seem to have adjusted much, I guess because it has 6GB?
and what of the Ti Black edition? was that a made...
indeed, Noctua showed lots of exciting stuff at computex and there are no release dates yet. I think a lot of people are waiting to get their hands on the black/grey 'budget' versions of the fans, the active noise cancellation cpu cooler (not for M1) and of course the compact heatsinks like D9...
are these spaced apart at regular intervals? it sounds like a classic dirty screen problem that has afflicted many LCD panels over the years, I don't know the exact explanation, but something to do with the manufacture process. You can imagine the sheets of TFT or filter layer feeding through...
so far I think only the green/black and blue/grey made it to Europe
I believe it's also sporting a 40mm fan which is my main concern with it. Chiphell (through google translate) made a comment that it's not too loud, but given how wildly different definitions of quiet can be I'd take the...
Would it be possible for the forum software to automatically strip the IMG tags from post quotes?
I note that previous threads have been posted in Help and Feedback regarding auto resizing which is deemed unnecessary, the alternative suggested is to report nuisance posts but that sometimes...
I read Asus have exclusive on the displays until latter half of next year so that may dent the appeal for anyone who upgrades graphics cards frequently. On the other hand it's now being reported that some retail 290s are failing to live up to the performance of the review samples :(
Just glad...
That is outrageous, how the fuck is that justified?! It costs less than that to deliver a parcel within the UK! I'm used to paying around £8 or slightly more but I can't remember ever paying that much for clearance.
I googled a bit and it seems it's the Parcelforce clearance fee apparently...
Perhaps if panels are resonating it will help a little, but I think vibration damping like on the PSU will be more useful. Otherwise I think the key to low noise is going to be minimising airflow restrictions and choosing an S or T series CPU
I meant literally just put them in the box, no unscrewing anything, but it's moot as the shipping process is too far advanced
given that the supplier is actually not LL, were these feet a standard part as far as the supplier is concerned?
