Well i decided just to swap the hardware from one pc to the other and it worked like a charm. Windows 7 detected everything, went online and updated all the drivers. No bugs at all.
Presently running stability test: 18.5 multiplier at 211mhz bus. 3903mhz.
On it's way form newegg:
x4 965 black edition
4gig ddr3 at 1600mhz
asus M4A78T-E
Now here's another question:
Do you think i can just swap out my drives, video card and sould card without doing a fresh install? I have windows 7 64bit.
Hi,
The rest of my stuff is:
OCZ 700w psu
XFX GTX260 Black edition
Auzentech prelude 7.1 sound card.
By the way I made a mistake, it's the 965 black edition cpu i was looking at.
I would not sell my opteron as i would make a seconday machine. I was thinking on this:
ASUS M4A78-E...
My opteron 180 is overclocked to 3000mhz stable and runs everything i throw at it at 1900x1200. will i see a huge difference with a x4 945 black edition?
thanks

I restarted the pc today and it made the same noise. It happens on boot up just before windows 7 splash screen. I'm not using the monitor speakers but i'll try turning the volume down anyways as it might just be electrical impulse.
Question: when you monitor changes resolution, do you hear a click sound? Mine did it on startup and when i went from my desktop to started rainbow six vegas (was at my old resolution) and when the game started i heard a loud click.
I recieved my monitor yesterday and tested it for about 1/2 hr and i'm impressed. I have the I-Inc iF-281DPB which i believe is the Hanns-g monitor with another name. To reply to the Poz, my monitor had no where near 2 inches of backlight bleed. At the top and sides it was basically 0 and about...
Hi,
Has any one gamed using the I-Inc iF-281DPB?

I'm using xp at the moment and will upgrade to windows 7. i'm going to wait a bit and get a phenom II x4 945. I can get one for about 190$ can.
In the meantime i'll concentrate on researching for the best am3 motherboard. any suggestions?
My Current rig plays anything i want. Fallout 3, crysis, (just completed those). I'm playing Oblivion and Gears of war at the moment. Opty 170 on ebay are well priced.
Here's what i have in stock in my spare parts:
Power supply 600w
8800 gt asus
A8n-sli (spare board)
Monitor
Mouse,keyboard,etc... No case, no memory, no cpu
Running in my box at the moment:
a8n-sli
4gb memory
xfx gtx 260
opteron 180 clocked to 2880
auzentech prelude
I presently have an opteron 180 (clocked at 2880) and it runs games fine. I'm looking to build another pc for my son. I presently have an extra socket 939 board but another opteron is about 200$.
Question: does the newer black edition phenom 9950 blow away the opteron or is it comparable...
The headphones are directly plugged into the card. At times i would say some of the sounds are off - direction wise. Sound quality is amazing but at times the direction of the sounds seems to be hard to differentiate.
I found this in the meantime that people posted back...
Hi,
I have bioshock with patch 1.1 and was wondering the best speaker setting in game using headphones.

I have a good stable system at the moment under XP. I mostly use it for gaming and was thinking of upgrading to Vista. The only thing is that looking around on forums, it seems the auzentech prelude is not hardware supported but software supported.
Does it work just as well with games under...
I have an asus en8800gt on an asus a8n-sli motherboard. If i decide to go sli - can i get any brand of 8800gt or does it have to be the same card? It's a 512mb card.
Thanks
I had a 3500+ socket 939. I changed to an opteron 180 and it oc with the stock cooler to 3000 at 1.41v. For me since i had all the rest which was recent, it was worth the upgrade. If you have several components to upgrade, then do not invest in your 939. change to another socket.
Hi,
I'll be changing from a a8n-sli to an a8n-sli premium. Do i have to format and re-install or do you think that I'll get away with just switching boards?
thanks for the replies.
I bought the Auzentech Prelude Yesterday. Got it for 169.00 which seems good as most sites run around 190.
Now i have to wait for it to arrive.;)
I bought the sb-45 and someone that came at the house asked if there's any difference between sb45 and sb40. I think the mic may be better on the sb-45 but the headphones seem to be the same? Anyone know if there's a difference?
thanks
I just bought the Asus Xonar U1 and it blows the creative out into space.
I got mine for 80$ from Microbytes. In the states you should be able to find one cheaper. They also come in different colors to match your case.
Product info...
I have an asus 8800gt. I took a look and i'm not sure the D2x will fit. It's also a price issue. The U1 is 80$ and the d2x is 200$.
I'm thinking of getting the u1 and saving up later for a whole new system. i'm still on socket 939. Then in 6-12 months i'll get a top of the line card.
I have to use a usb sound card. Out of the 2 which one would you get? this will be used for games.
I have no functional pci slots. Only one pci-e slot left and usb.
I was looking at the asus Xonar D2X . It has had good reviews but is very expensive. In Canada i'm looking at 200$ apart from the tax which make the card a total of 235$.

At this point I'm wondering if i just dont save up and get a new mobo...
Hi,
I believe my pci controller on my board is no good. Asus a8n-sli and the board is too old to rma.
I had a soundblaster audigy se and i'm presently using the on board sound. If i get the pci-express version of the xtreme audio will i have good sound in games? As good as the audigy?
Thanks
I have a soundblaster audigy 2 oem. I am thinking of getting the x-fi xtreme gamer but the price is keeping me from getting it right away.
I had a pair of jwin msbs headphones and the sound was ok. I then purchased the zalman 5.1 and the sound is ok also but i did notice that it becomes...
Well i bought the bullet and ordered a set of sb-45. I was also trying to find a good set that was price friendly. I finally found a place where the shipping to Canada was reasonable.
I'll let you know when i get these the difference between the sb-45 and the Zalman 5.1
Well i found the koss sb-45 on ebay that ships to Canada. My problem now is which headset to get.
On paper the sony seems to have a better range but i can't find a good review. the koss is noted in the sticky here. I will not have chance to test either as this is coming from the u.s and they...
