As a previous poster said there's no danger as long as you don't run it with adaptive voltage and set voltage manually but even then I have stability tested loads with IBT prime Asus realbench etc whilst forgetting all the time to swap from adaptive voltage to manual and have been okay but...
For a start 4.6ghz on only 1.25 volts might be too optimistic and to me it just seems like 4.6ghz was never truly 100% stable at 1.25 volts.
here's a good guide make sure to read page 1 post 1 all the way through some important points are stress test with manual voltage and power states off...
silverstone ft01 old now but so underrated (corsiar 650d is a ripoff of it but worse) the top fan filter issue is easily solved just run the top fan as exhaust it's full ally great looking very heavy with hq sound deadening
Yea it amazes me how so many are so ignorant they spend a hundred plus on a soundcard then have something like turtlebeach or similar headsets, are those sennheiser Hd 650 I spy ?
Product baiting is commonplace in so many electrical goods
Release an item with certain components / performance get rave reviews
Then
Manufacture said item under the same model name but with cheaper components and build quality
Goes on in so many things I guess it's legal then
reminds me...
is there a corsair psu issue with this case and its connector i read somewhere that the cable interferes with the psu switch because its right next to the socket ?
love how people have all these amazing screen setups yet have crappy cases and headsets lol
I see a few good cases though like the ft02 thankfully but seriously guys get proper headphones.
well it must be 100% a driver issue with the 5770 and the 12.8 if it wasn't I would have problems on other driver versions ? so i don't see your logic there.
Maybe you didn't uninstall 12.6 correctly and it's using part of the old drivers left over from 12.6 on your 12.8 and thus is stable.
which software are you using to read the vrm temps ? is it always on 100c ? if so sounds like that isn't a correct reading and yes I would say that is too high i wouldn't be comfortable with my vrm always at 100c.
Exactly which model of card is it ? maybe there vrms are in different places like...
No i just kept getting random crashes and ccc has stopped working crashes flickering etc in games.
Not a single blip since going back to 12.6 your problem is more than likely a bios issue which will be fixed.
Just do what I always do with third party coolers use your thermal paste of choice arctic silver / ic diamond / mx3/4 or whatever put a blob in the middle of each sink and then in 2 corners of each sink or on the chip itself put a tiny tiny amount as little as you can of superglue on 2 corners...
What is the cooler height restriction ? will a 170mm tall archon fit in there ? is that a cogage arrow in the posts above or a silver arrow ? that is 160mm tall how much room to play with ? and I take it there's no longer the issue of being able to fit thicker fans in the front lower intake ?
1x stock ty-14 fan @ 1260 rpm 1.46 volts set in bios thermal paste is mx-3 I shall be comparing mx3 as5 and Ic diamond 24 this weekend as IC sent some of us over at ocuk samples to supply test results with.
You need to set IBT to use free ram amount NOT available ram if you aren't seeing 43-45...
So..... anyone tested yet ? is it beating the SA and D14 as claimed in one review ?
Problem with most reviews are they aren't doing extreme overclocking with it, want to see what it's like on Intel burnt test compared to the silver arrow and noctua D14.
Or a Q6600 @ 3.6ghz and beyond is a very...
Open it first and take a look at the caps as not all 226bw come with the same power board.

Cant help but notice the very low voltage though I want to see 1.4 volts plus, and intel burn test load temps.
I think that's where this cooler falls down a bit and would be hitting 80-95c (IBT) 75-85c (Prime) 60-70c (gaming load) at the limits of the Q6600's.
When you consider that the now...
It's a great cooler don't get me wrong it's probably the best cooler ever but it does in most cases require lapping and careful fan matching to live up to it's rep.
I don't rate it at all compared to a tuniq tower 120 which can be just a couple of c behind even with the one fan at 1000rpm I was tempted to get a true a while ago but #1 they need lapping to shine and #2 they need 2x 1600 + rpm fans which is noisy compared to 1 fan at 1000rpm.
I think a lapped...
That's dreadful performance i wouldn't be at all happy with that, I have a q6600 at 3.5 ghz 1.4 volts idles at 30 gaming load 50 and prime load 70 ish and intel burn test 70-80 in normal ambient temps under an old style tuniq tower with one middle fan at 998 rpm idles at 35-40 with v high room...
They were desirable a few years ago lol like 2002 but these days they can keep em.
I don't see anything good about their cases over silverstone and lian li.Quite frankly their latest range is distinctly average to say the least.
Yes but look at the voltage, can you try again with Intel Burn Test and 1.45v normally around the mark needed for 3.5ghz or more or even try for 3.4ghz.
Having a good chip which gets good clocks on low voltages is not too good an indicator of a coolers performance, it's when you start going...
why is this heatsink required to be removed? at the top pic where I have outlined is that a bit that gets hack sawed away I don't understand the need to remove the default solution here?
Anyone know where you can get the above drivers they are nowhere on creatives site and some people are getting these oem cards and they dont come with the driver cd.
creative soundblaster x-fi extreme audio pci-e thanks
I wouldn't lose any sleep over the thought of not being able to run a single player game maxed out, if the multiplayer is a must have brilliant game i can see the point.
Single player games no matter how great they look soon become tiresome just look at bioshock i hardly play it and i can max...
Ok what is going on ! we are 7 days away from the launch and still no solid information or benchmarks ? does this card even exist ? have nvidia even acknowledged it yet ? this is just getting ridiculous now.
Just put down the shovel and stop digging your own grave and have a bit of honour.:) max any game on a 7900 gs have to laugh at some people.:o mate i can't max bioshock on my 8800 gts 640mb with reasonable frames.
I think he must consider 0 AA-0 AF max settings then.
Erm pretty much any card going you can do with 30a m8.A quad with 8800 ultra doesn't go over 350watts full load. How can you not know this info is beyond me get a mains power meter if you don't believe me.
