Do you have any guide that you can point me to?
Is this the one? http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/vbe7-vbios-editor-for-radeon-hd-7000-series-cards.189089/
Thanks for the info.
In short, it works. I have shorted/turned on the secondary PSU and than turn on the primary PSU and everything works flawlessly.
Now to share some details of my experiment.
The secondary PSU (PSU2) is connected only to a 7950 video card.
I tried to short PSU2 the...
Just curious on when to short the second PSU if it is not connected to the primary PSU?
Should I short it before I boot up primary?
Or short it quickly after I boot up?
I don't think precise parallel boot and short is very feasible?
I agree with you. Exposure and acceptance to the general public might be the biggest thing for all the alt coins. As more people know about the virtual currency, the more staying power(potential) it has.
Also I think it is just how we grew up to use currencies, it was never easy to wrap my...
After careful review, I don't see a PCI-E x16 slot for
SUPERMICRO MBD-X9SCM-O LGA 1155 Intel C204 Micro ATX Intel Xeon E3 Server Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813182254
Is it actually going to work with a normal video card?
will the PCI-E x1 video card...
Got it, Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestions!!
I will figure out the storage setup within the budget to maximize my needs
Last question, I probably will get a cheap video card to do dual screen. Any suggestions?
I am thinking about HD6450...
I have checked out Socket 2011 and the MoBo/CPU combination seems to be out of my price range.
Any justifiable performance gain over the Socket 1155 E3 line other then the fact to get reasonably priced 8GB ram modules?
Any idea when the Ivy Bridge will be coming out?
Thanks a lot for...
Got it, I think that make sense and it is also why I moved to Xeon platform with ECC.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Very good point. I was debating about the E3 vs X3440 platform also. But went with the X3440 because of the larger RAM size within budget.
I guess 32GB is not really...
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc

I will be using this computer for programing, running some genome analysis, assembly, that are are CPU intensive and RAM demanding.
However, I don't need top of the line server...

Yeah, any input would be great, I kind of got the buyer's remorse after jumping on the 3850, I really can't wait any longer because I want to get my system up and running during turkey weekend. But the 1 year warranty provided by Diamond really makes me second guess myself...
Looks like the 3870s are out, Got an 3850 for me instead.
I was originally debating is the extra $40 for 3870 is worth it or not, I guess the stock avalibility have decided for me...
My build is finally complete...
I would not argue that ATI 3870 is faster than 8800GT, however, doubt that it is that much slower indicated in the review. Driver is a significant part of all this and the reviewer used 7.9??!! Doesn't make a lot of sense to me...
Well, This is exactly what I will be doing. Get a E2160 and OC it as much as it will allow me. (hopefully I can get to 3.0Ghz and above) And if I really saved a lot on HD and monitor, I might consider a E4X00 CPUs.
So it looks like that I am on the right track, and thanks for all the input...
I don't really NEED raid, just that I read it would be faster and could potentially help load time in games. But to be honest, I can wait a few seconds. It is just an idea, like I said in the end my post, if I didn't get any good deal on HD this Black Friday, I would do what you suggested. Just...
I have been spending some time looking into hardware reviews on the net and posts here for the past few weeks. And this is what I have come up with so far and I would like to know what you think about it.
The plan is to build a new rig, mainly to game, and to improve from my...
Hum... interesting findings after looking around that chart.
Well, E4500 is best price/peformance(the best C2D is E2160 however)
Q6600 performance wise is not that different from E6750
it sounds like it is probably best to just get a duo now and wait for more software to support quad and...
LOL, I just got the Corsair 520w PSU from buy.com and I am also deciding E6750 or Q6600.
I do have a question related to this topic though. Let's say if I decided that I am going to upgrading to a quad in about a year with the new Penryn. will it make any sense to actually buy a even more...
Really tempting, I think this is probably the lowest price point I have seen on this PSU(especially after GCO). I've read a lot of good review on this one.
First of all, thanks for all your input and advice.
I think it would make sense to rethink the PSU and the motherboard. I don't really think I would need 600W at all, it's just that I think it is more future proofed. I will definitely look into another PSU.
As for mobo, the reason I...
Hello, I am new to this forum and I have a few questions in mind that I hope somebody can help me decide.
I am planning to build a new rig, main purpose to gaming, and primarily RTS. So I am looking at supreme commander, world in conflict, war hammer 40K( this is a older game) and some...
