I sort of have a similar thing happen with my Samsung 120hz monitor but it only lasts like 1-2 second than it goes back to normal and like you it happens when coming out of sleep mode. I think it also happens when I ctrl + alt + delete in windows 7, again it only lasts like a second than it goes...
Whew that is a relief, I am looking at buying one of these in a couple of days to replace my CRT. The most recent LCD I purchased about a year ago has horrible light bleed and has been relegated to just being a spare screen next to my CRT. I really hope this one is much better.
So WildMonkey according to you 7 years ago the lcd monitors that were out then are comparable to the ones today in terms of gaming and responsiveness? I mean they all run at 60hz and therefore there is no difference between them....
120hz is not only helpful in having smoother game play but...
Nice, thank you for the full review from digitalversus.
I just read the short review they did and they say it is the most responsive monitor they have ever tested, beating out the vx2268 which is really great. I too was worried when I saw the the VS Crt thing but I am now relieved after...
I think there is a workaround for ATI cards where you have to change the clock speeds at idle. During gaming there shouldn't be an issue using 120hz. I was hoping ATI would have resolved this already though:(
The Dell's back light looks really good especially considering the pic at 100 brightness. The Samsung looks about average and I doubt exchanging it will help, I have seen much worse.
Why does the delay compared to crt hit 50ms... that is atrocious yet it also has a min of 0.. I was kinda hoping for it to be almost zero. Still using the gaming comparison it looks pretty good so who knows.
I will certainly look at buying one if the price is right.
If you read the original post you would see that he does Photoshop and a lot of gaming.
There are no LCD's currently that are up to par with CRT's in terms of responsiveness and also have the ability to reproduce accurate color. There are some LCD's that are tolerable for gaming(120hz...
I'm in the same boat, actually I did buy an lcd about a year ago but ended up still using my crt. I am waiting for some more 120hz models to come out. Even with the "2 ms" LCD I had, mouse movement didn't feel quite as smooth as on my crt.
Yea, I opened my p225f and it is the same, nearly impossible to get the front cover off. I did manage to get the two top screws out so I could get underneath the front bezel a little bit.
I wonder why they decided to make them that way. I have some Lacie Electron blue monitors that are almost...
It looks like one of there TV's with the speaker detached. Here is a link to some of the models they look quite similar

I've done it a couple of times and I never waited. I actually left it on for while to heat it up, making it easier to remove. Although I will say this the monitors I did it on all had the metal shielding over the internal parts.
If you take the case off you could remove it a lot easier. Using blades and detergents without removing the case isn't worth the trouble. The coating is quite thick like 5mm.
"We also asked AMD if the EyeFinity tech could cope with monitors with different resolutions and sizes, and received an affirmative – which means that you could begin to add monitors as and when you like, including re-using old ones."'

Yes, you are right... That is what stupid people do, try and show off/compete by saying obnoxious things.....
I really enjoy your posts Albovin, they provide me with a lot of entertainment.
Wow, Hurin that was great, I think a lot of people had similar thoughts but just didn't want to bother writing it out. You literally destroyed his arguments,
Albovin is such a strange poster, he seems to be trying to convince himself and everyone else that his monitor is the best and nothing...
Bulkiness, power consumption, installation(what?)... why are those even included in a chart.
Sharpness, LCD are know to be sharper...
Deepness of black to the eye he means when you have florescent or sunlight beaming at your screen the blacks appear better on the LCD. Big deal I game with...
I agree with you, I have had 2 LCD monitors the first one I bought in like 2006ish and I could never really adjust to it in terms of the blurring and input lag. My second one was bought just last winter and the input lag was very low which helped, but it wasn't enough. I have since found 2 used...
I have noticed blur on every fixed panel display I've seen, plasma or lcd. I was excited to hear about these new 120hz lcd's, thinking it would help reduce or remove it but I guess it is just a limitation of these flat screen monitors.
I still plan on investigating them more and even...
Does your video card have dual dvi outputs, if so try chnaging what ever one your main monitor is connected too. I think I had a similar problem with my s-video output and all I had to do was change the dvi port my main monitor was using.
I have the same board and CPU as you and I can see what is wrong.
under ACC you have to set it to All Cores where you have it to AUTO.
Here is a pic of mine
Same here, probably the best value for the money, although you have to take a gamble in order to get it.
To the poster that asked what stepping of my cpu, it is 0921APBW
Here is a good thread in another forum about unlocking the X2 550, also gives a good list of cpu steppings that are...
I doubt it will take much away from there Quad sales as only enthusiasts will bother with trying to unlock. For me Quads simply weren't in my budget, maybe a tri core but I decided to take the chance and went with a dual and luckily it unlocked.
I am quite impressed with the chip I have. So far I have it down to only 1.150 vcore with the 4 cores unlocked and it has run prime95 for over an hour. I doubt I will be able to drop it down much lower than this, but I am very pleased with it considering it was 1.35 default with only 2 cores...
I tried it at 1.45 and also tried at lower frequency still no difference. I read on another forum that using ACC might cause this, so I'm hoping that's what it is.
Got my new motherboard (GA MA-790GP UD4H) and CPU(Phenom x2 550) over the weekend. This was my first time working with an AMD system and so far it's been pretty good.
I Unlocked the 4th core no problem. I was even able to undervolt it a little, stock was 1.35v and so far I have droped it...
This is similar to what I want to do, except I want 3 monitors and one HDTV. The only decent solution that I came up with is building my new rig based around an AMD board with and IGP and an AMD graphics card.
AMD has surround view which allows you to have up to 4 monitors using two outputs...
This looks like a good board and a really low price too, but I can't find any reviews. Do you guys think it will be a decent overclocker and does it allow unlocking of extra cpu cores?
I am currently thinking of building a new AMD based system and would hope to be able to get around 3.4-3.6...
