it's sorta tangentially related to this topic: If you have a Prime membership and log into Twitch with it, you can get a free copy of Deathloop in your Epic Games Store library.

14900KS coming with new boards same 1700 socket TechYES video

I decided I am going to wait on RYZEN 8000X3D CPUs, unless the 14700k gets a price drop REALLY soon. I will sell off my 12700k CPU and motherboard, replace it with my 7800X3D CPU in a B650E board.

Anyone make the switch from 5800X3D to 7800X3D?

I switched when the 7800X3D launched because I had the money and saw the uplift, even at 4K which I play at on my LG C1. Starfield is something else and g-sync makes it very smooth. I'm also glad to be on another platform that will upgrade-able for the next few years

    Crucial p3 plus Amazon sale 80$ 2 TB...price just went up 10$

I just grabbed the 4TB for like $208 a few weeks ago. It did pretty well when I transferred about 2TB, but the limits of cacheless hit too. They are great for many many use cases and the warranty is solid.

14900KS coming with new boards same 1700 socket TechYES video

Looks like a BIOS is out for my Z690 FORCE. I'll be waiting for the 14700K's first price drop. A fun thing I see MSI is sneaking into their latest BIOS releases is the same BS ASUS pulled where it tells Windows to auto download chipset drivers/Armory Crate without asking you. Just caught it...

They are very close in performance, but whichever is cheaper is the one to go with.

Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE $35.90

The PA 120 SE version is 155mm tall, so it WILL fit in a NR200P if you have the version with the steel side panel. I have a DVR build in this chassis using a 5600G and the PA 120 SE, and it all fits!

Please don't laugh, I need a new graphics card

I'd do the 5800X3D first, see if you can get that RAM to 3600, and then look for a 7900XT when you can find them for $699 or less

Thermal Grizzly Kryosheets, are they worth it - if you can find them?

once you compress them they are a little, I was worried about the same issue and ended up being REALLY deliberate and test fitting a few times before going for it. No issues so far and it's been a couple weeks.

Thermal Grizzly Kryosheets, are they worth it - if you can find them?

I just used the new Kryosheets when I changed up my air cooled system. I got mine from Titan Rig in the US. I trimmed the 29x25mm one to use on a reference 6900XT (went back to air cooling from a waterblock) and the 38x38mm for my 5800X3D and TPA120. Results are both as good as any paste I've...

    Cablemod 12VHPWR Causing Major Problems

I too use the OEM Seasonic 12VHPWR adapter...$15 and works great on both my 4090 FE and ASUS TUF OC. I recently bought a few Thermal Grizzly WireViews to act as 90 adapters and haven't had any issues so far.

7800X3D will be an utter failure of a CPU

Get lastest chipset drivers installed. Get them from AMD. Make sure you are on a current non-beta BIOs and enable EXPO after you do the update. Avoid Armory Crate at all costs...it's a POS and will only cost you performance.

7800X3D will be an utter failure of a CPU

I am running my 7800X3D on a custom loop with the MSI X670E Carbon board. I have run EXPO since day one. My voltages were right at 1.35-1.36 before the beta bios released at the end of April. After, they dropped to right around 1.3. Before the update my idle temps were over 40C al the...

7800X3D will be an utter failure of a CPU

I got mine orderd via BB yesterday. I got $10 off for being a totaltech member and I had a $10 reward cert, so I almost got tax covered. I thought about going to MC here, but I'll keep the savings and build next weekend. My brother got his at Newegg and he got $6 next day shipping so he is...

7800X3D will be an utter failure of a CPU

This thread has a troll title, but it got me to post about so I guess it worked.. I think it's fairly obvious for below 4k gaming this will sell like all get out. I DO game at 4k and I have a motherboard and RAM ready to go when this thing launches.

    Reservoir Question

I have used two Watercool 150 TUBE D5 reservoirs and really like the simplicity and quality of their reservoirs. One has a pwm controlled D5 and the other is a D5 NEXT. Both worked perfectly with no issues.

Keep soft tube or upgrade to hard tube?

it's a bit more rigid and so not as prone to kinking. As far as I've seen it doesn't break down in any way. I use it with clear EK fluid. I prefer the aesthetic as I have an o11d xl. I can monitor my block's cold plates visually if I notice anything funky going on in aquasuite.

Keep soft tube or upgrade to hard tube?

they are like $15 each...i get them at performance-pc. I like because they are proven, easy to install, and they make unqiue variations like bulk-head connectors. I'm in the process of moving to an external rad (MORA3) and they make the runs a bit cleaner looking

Keep soft tube or upgrade to hard tube?

    Koolance QD3 is what I use. I use the 5/8 OD x 7/16 ID EK ZMT tubing and the Koolance fittings in 10mm x 16mm (3/8in x 5/8in).

Keep soft tube or upgrade to hard tube?

i went from glass tubing to ZMT w/ QDCs and have never looked back. If you ever plan to change your hardware out and want to do so with a minimum hassle, stay with soft tubing..

4090 Performance in 8x PCIe Slot

You can also just not use the ABP, the RAM is all on one side of the board so 4090's don't really benefit much if at all from ABPs.

    Upgrade from a 3600?

As has already been said, if your board supports it, go 5800X3D. YouTube can show you the bios upgrade process in general and maybe even specifically for your board. BE CAREFUL and ask question if you need help. You are taking advantage of the best things about AM4.. good luck!
