sRGB S-PVA discontinued long long ago. The last one I tested was 24" Gateway. The last S-PVAs were wide gamut. I don't count anything below 24". Viewing angles in c-PVA are not worse than in S-PVA.

It has never been an issue because there is no difference. Usually NEC delivers the same product for a lower price or a better product for the same price.

Yes, the Samsung SA850 is better for text work than the Dell 2408. The problem is that you may have to change the monitor a couple of times until you get a unit without backlight uniformity issues.

27" IPS has super fine dot pitch (-) matte finish with crystalline effect (-) wide color gamut (-) resolution won't fit other monitors in your composition (-) 2410 is worthless. 2412 is a budget all-rounder (almost) but again it's not the best choice for text work.
