May I ask why you mostly recommend Samsung 840 Pro series? Is it that reliable?
And why 256 GB, is 120 not enough?
Should I use the drive only for Windows and "permanent" applications while moving all "user data" and "documents" directories and drives to a secondary HDD? Or could I also...
Hi!
I'd like to upgrade my ageing Intel Core2duo P8600 (easily overclocked from 3.0 to 3.6 GHz :) ) to something more powerful. I was thinking about a quad-core (or more, does it make sense on W8?) My primary concern is a fast photo RAW processing.
I could stay with Intel and go with an i5...
OK, I'll consider W8, but I don't like its environment, so I'd probably fine-tune it with some additional applications :)
And regarding automatic defragmentation - I hate all these automatic processes (defragementation, cleaning, anti-virus check...), so I'm used to disable the most I can :)
Hi!
I plan on getting a new hardware and installing W7 instead of XP. Should I get SSD or stay with HDD? I specifically ask because of reliability issues of SSD.
Thanks
p.s.: Please recommend a model/brand.
Hi!
Recently I'v bought Acer Aspire V7 15,6'' notebook with Full HD LCD IPS matte display. Looks nice, however just after a few minutes of using my eyes are sore and my head hurts.
I don''t know if it is because of the resolution, too small pixels? But I have no such problem with my...
Thanks for the answers.
Well, my question is intended more towards mid and high-range models which are available in Europe. If you speak about specific "good value" korean monitors, better post their model names. And I'd pass on glossy monitors :)
Btw, in case my NEC 2690 breaks down I...
Hi!
There used to be a time when NEC 2490 with H-IPS and A-TW "no-white-glow" filter was the one (I got 2690 because 2490 wasn't sold in Europe).
What (or which) is the current most recommended all-around IPS monitor? (Eizo SX2462W, NEC PA241W... ?)
Just being curious, not that I plan...
Colour precision is not the only benefit of IPS panels. Better models also don't exhibit various brightness and contrast related faults of TN and *VA panels. But the best thing you can do is just simply to try.
And XoR is right - go for an wide-gamut model, the over-saturation of colours could...
I'll take a look on the AutoHotKey scripts, if that can server the purpouse.
As for the keyboards, for example http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Lycosa-Programmable-Backlit-Keyboard/dp/B000YDIA78 , isn't this fully programmable?
Hi!
I`m used to my custom keyboard layout, however in my new job we can`t temper with system files (ie installing a custom keyboard DLL), so I consider a programmable keyboard.
But what I need is fully programmable keayboard with on-board memory, so I can set it up at home and just plug in...
Hi!
I need comfortable headphones with good passive sound isolation for use in open office to minimize voice distractions. Combination with active noise-cancelling can be also useful, but I know this type of technology is not intended to filter human voice. The sound quality is not that...
Hi!
My DSLR is too large to carry around every day and my mobile does not make good enough photos, so I'd like a new compact camera with there features:
Need:
Good low-light photos
Good white-balance auto-detection (lightbulbs...)
micro/miniUSB or HDMI connection (nothing...
Glossy or matte? I recall Hazro offering also glossy screens. Not that I'd be interested in a glossy screen, but some people may be :)
And do you still offer smaller displays? Your webpage actually shows only HZ30Wi :-/
Try this:

Or this:

(They are probably the same.)
No success guaranteed,
Oh, oh, the infinite PVA vs IPS discussion. For some time, the choice had been clear - IPS with A-TW filter (not taking the price and speed into counting, there TN always wins). But no, stupid marketing departments could not sell this feature to people, so bye, bye NEC 2690/2490/2090 with great...
FragMagnet si right, you have to adjust monitor to you lightning conditions and your preferences, no need for professional calibration.
Just consider spending an hour setting the monitor you are going to use for many hours a day.
(Note: Standard gamut or good sRGB emulation saves you a big...
If you are on Mac, just open a paint application and create white, black, green, red and blue colour filled images with your monitor current resolution and open them full screen.
Or use this application, it's HTA, so maybe you will be able to open it in a web browser...
So you assume that LaCie Blue Eye Pro calibration/measurement software does not include such corrections? The same software that LaCie supplies with their professional monitors.
Even "generic" correction in iColor worked well for prad.de:
"The generic "Wide-Gamut S-IPS" correction in...
I think you better read it yourself:
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/hp_zr24w.htm
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2410.htm
ZR24W should be a less headache achieving normal sRGB colours and it has less grainy anti-glare coating. On the other hadn u2410 is able to achieve...
Both refurbished costed nearly the same. And as the discussion went towards discussing refub 2209WAs, I gave my input.
But well, it is unfair to compare any monitor to an IPS with A-TW filter :)
I got a chance to compare refurbished Dell 2209WA and NEC 2090UXi and the difference was striking. 2090 having A-TW filter is much better, no silver shimmering, 2209WA had a lot on the other side. I think it would serve 2209WA to has a less grainy coating. The only plus for 2209WA are larger...
I think people can clearly distinguish between glossy and matte screens and buy whatever they like. (As for me I get headache form glossy screens.)
But the difference between various AG coating strength may not be that clear. What about an index, that would rate the AG coating strength? :)...
Well, it is annoyance at least.
My 2090UXi, manufactured... I can't find, but it is revision 1-E. It certainly has A-TW filter, so its viewing angles are perfect. I could check it side-by-side with my 2690 (also has A-TW) and Dell 2209WA (no A-TW, massive white glow).
But what you describe...
Thanks for the reply, but that's not it. Maybe I didn't describe it properly. After moving mouse or pressing a key the monitor returns from sleep normally. But when the video card is going into sleep mode, the monitor instead of "No signal" shows "Signal out of range".
