you don't buy the Apple airport family for its configurability. I'm interested in the express myself. Liked the built-in wall socket on the previous gen. not so sure on the new one. decisions
Work hasn't released the latest cisco client that will work with OSX Lion so I searched the net and found a guide that lets me use the built-in one to connect to work.

last night. I rebuild my pool on my old file server. I copied over the files I backed up to it after creating the pool. And then exported the pool after I'm done copying and shutdown the PC.
When I created the pool, it was using ada1 to 4. When I moved it to the new box (HP N40L), it's using...
Does anyone has the original bios for the N40L? I updated mine to latest and then april 2011 and it can only see 8gb of my 16gb. It can recognize the full16GB before the bios update.
The oldest I can see from the HP website is the one from April 2011. Thanks
Has anyone used Ubuntu on a USB stick as their OS of choice? How is the performance? I will be using Ubuntu 12.04 server and Lexar 16gb which according to the specs has 45MB read and 20MB write.

I have successfully installed sysutils/fusefs-exfat.
I tried the following:
1. Removed my disk from its external case and connected it to a SATA port on the motherboard. It came up as /dev/ada5 and when I ran # mount.exfat-fuse /dev/ada5s1 /mnt/backup I got an error "failed to open fuse...
I have a Perc5i card here. Well actually 4 of them. I wanna use 1 as as SATA controller (RAID feature is not use. I just want to use the 8 SATA ports) for a ZFS FreeBSD setup. I'm just wondering if I would get performance advantages over the built-in Intel ICHx chipset provided SATA ports (other...
I dont have a switch that has teaming facility. file server can easily serve 200MBps and the gaming desktop uses SSD sata3 drives.
hence the reason I want to use crossover.
I have 4 server quality NICs here (2 gigabit ports per card. Intel-based and uses PCIe 4x). I wanna install 1 NIC to a my gaming PC and another NIC to my fileserver (I can install linux or BSD in this one as long as I can team using crossover).
So I'm wondering if what I want is possible...
I was reading abt migrating my pool into another computer and I came across an old discussion where it seems if the disk has "labels", it won't be as easy to migrate.
I've searched the net for "ZFS label" (without quotes) and I came up blank.
Can someone please explain? thank you
I got 2 desktops here (one using 1 realtek 8111b chipset and the newer one using realtek 8111e) that I have connected using an cat6 cable (not crossover cable).
According to the realtek website, both chipsets supports "Crossover Detection & Auto-Correction" (copy/paste from realtek's...

I installed vista x86 (formatted partition too) on a PC and the NIC wont enable. I beginning to wonder if this is a hardware fault? I'm wondering if its better to buy a new board or just the pci/pcie nic? some boards can be cheap. ty :)
I have a case here that has been been painted 5 coats using etching prime and 5 (maybe 6) coats of glossy black. It's looks okay as it is. But my initial aim is to get a mirror finish.
I'm just wondering what people's thoughts are in regards to the thread title.
Thank you very much :)...
I've been searching around and people have called dynamat "mass loader" because it adds weight to the panel does making it harder to vibrate.
does that mean for small speakers (like those included in in logitech sets), I can use blu tack?
