I have two PSUs, an Antec Earthwatts 500 and an OCZ Fatal1ty 550, and neither of them have cables long enough to reach the 8-pin, SATA power, 24-pin, etc. in my 800D unless I put the power supply in the main compartment near the GPU. This looks terrible and raises temps.
I'd like to know what...
I got it for free, so I'd rather use this than buy a new one if possible. The scratches are mostly toward the outside, and they're very shallow. Perhaps with a bit of sanding, would the heatsink still be useable?
Which of these heatsinks performs best? I can find individual reviews, but no comparisons, so sorry if there are any somewhere... It'll be cooling a Q9550, clocked somewhere between 3.6 and 4.0 GHz.
Thanks.
I was told weeks ago when it was last in stock on Dell Outlet that it comes in stock every month. A customer service rep said a week ago that it would be in stock soon.
Yet... it's still not in. How often does it usually come in stock? Has it been every month consistently, or have there been...
What's the best cooler and thermal compound? I'm looking at the Cooler Master V8 and OCZ Freeze, is there anything better around the same price? I probably only plan to OC to 3.4 (400x8.5, so my 800MHz RAM can run at a 1:1 FSB ratio), but I'd still like my processor to be as cool as possible...
It's coming back in stock very soon according to the customer service rep, so I'd like to be prepared. The more I can get off, the better, obviously, but anything would be great. Thanks.
I bought a HTIB a while ago, which came with mediocre speakers and this receiver. I'm going to be upgrading my speakers, I'll be looking at about 800 dollars for the whole upgrade. Should I worry about my receiver as well, or is this receiver adequate? If I don't get a receiver, I'll have more...
I need to know the vertical height of the monitor, with the stock stand, as low as it goes and as high as it goes. Dell lists a height, but doesn't specify what that height is (Just the panel? Low as it goes? High as it goes?).
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.
I finally got myself a dremel, and plan to take it to my RC-690. I'm still reading the manuals and learning how everything works, but I have one question: do you need to wear any kind of protection? Goggles, mask, etc.? What I read online, I see conflicting answers.
Also, is there anything...
I'm in the market for a 30" monitor. This monitor will be used alongside 1-2 smaller monitors (probably 2007FPs, unless I can't find any). However, this whole set-up will be used for a lot more than just gaming; including computer graphics, web design, game programming, picture and video...
I can reuse the main components from my current build (to keep cost low)? My current build has:
Q6600
HD4870
4GB DDR2 800
I'd like to reuse all three of these, if possible. I'm wondering if a Shuttle would fit the HD4870, and if so, which one is best? Otherwise, what else is there...
Going to be doing some case painting. Going to Lowes now, to get primer, paint and sandpaper.
And what's the best way to do things? Do I sand after each primer? How many coats of primer? How many coats of paint?
Thanks in advance.
I want to find a case to mod. I have number of modifications in mind.
Basically, it needs:
- Lots of space
- ATX motherboard/PSU
- Bottom-mounted PSU
- No window and not too much mesh on the side
- Plastic or metal front (not mesh)
- Room behind motherboard tray
Optional (but would...

I have my old HP which I may settle on: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/prodinfoCategory?lc=en&cc=ca&dlc=en&product=3356598
And an old TV I have which I may use: http://www.amazon.com/Apex-AT2002-20-TV/dp/B000066E70
Still deciding.
Any other ideas would be great, and...
I'm either going to get a Dell 2407WFP or 3007WFP, haven't yet decided. I want to mount the monitor on the wall under my TV... so I need a good wall-mount for those sizes of monitor. It doesn't really need anything fancy, even just up/down would be fine. However, it should probably hold the...

I built a Lanbox for someone with an 8800GT, which is a fairly large card. I want to move my computer into a Lanbox... but I have an HD4870, which is twice the thickness of the 8800GT (doubt that's a problem) and about an inch longer (which may be a problem). Does anyone have any experience...
